Fall Aging Conference   President's Note    November Public Policy Meeting

It is autumn and it is showing us its beauty!  The trees are painted with brilliant strokes of red, orange, golden, and yellow.  There are berries on the bushes that provide food for the birds and other animals throughout the winter.  The squirrels are busy collecting acorns and other goodies to keep them nourished throughout the winter, if they remember where they buried them.

It is also time for the Fall Aging Conference, our biggest event of the year.  It is scheduled for Thursday, October 26, 2017 beginning at 8:00 a.m.  It will be held at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Park, MN.  See you there!

Hello MASWA Members!

This has to be my favorite time of the year.  I love all of the color in nature and the smell of autumn.  But most of all, it's time to see all of my friends at the Fall Aging Conference!  It is next week and promises to be great again this year.  The Steering Committee searched out fantastic speakers with great topics.  Each year this conference gets better and better.  We are so fortunate, as professionals, to have this conference as a resource for the work we do with the senior population.  It is a conference I have attended since 1995 (yes, I am old!) and have always found it to be valuable to the work I've done with seniors.  I have also been able to apply many of the conference topics to my personal life, as well.

I will look forward to seeing all of you at the conference next Thursday!  If I don't know you, seek me out and introduce yourselves.  If you do know me, be sure to seek me out to say hello.  I love the work all of you do to make the lives of seniors better.  It isn't always easy work, but it is extremely valuable and gratifying!  Thanks to all of you for being there and giving of yourselves for us seniors!

See you next Thursday!
