October

Robert Frost

O hushed October morning mild,

Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;

Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,

Should waste them all.

The crows above the forest call;

Tomorrow they may form and go.

O hushed October morning mild,

Begin the hours of this day slow.

Make the day seem to us less brief.

Hearts not averse to being beguiled,

Beguile us in the way you know.

Release one leaf at break of day;

At noon release another leaf;

One from our trees, one far away.

Retard the sun with gentle mist;

Enchant the land with amethyst.

Slow, slow!

For the grapes' sake, if the were all,

Whose elaves already are burnt with frost,

Whose clustered fruit must else be lost—

For the grapes' sake along the all.

Dear Friends

Nepal, India, Spain, Germany, Austria, here we come! In celebration of our 10th Anniversary and our 4th Album All In Good Time, the Sheroes will be on the largest tour to date - see dates in the calendar below and on the poster. We had a beautiful run in the US, including the DC and the Detroit Jazz Festival, samples also below, and can't wait to see our friends around the world. Vienna friends - note the Sunday October 13 date at Porgy & Bess, not to be missed! Here is an interview with Dawn Burns for the WVPE program The Sauce on our US Tour.

All In Good Time is holding steady on the US JazzWeek charts, now scoring in the Top 20 for 9 weeks, thanks to all the DJs spinning the music and everyone listening. The album is available on all streaming services (search for Monika Herzig's Sheroes) - recommended order link - Bloomington friends, stop by Landlocked Music for your copy, buy local. Recording Academy Member friends, consider voting in the Best Jazz Album and Best Instrumental Solo category for Camille Thurman's smoking solo on All In Good Time, thanks.

Our first Erasmus+ collaborations at the Jam Music Lab University, Vienna with St. Louis College of Music, Rome, Italy the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts, Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and the Conservatorio Statale di Musica Alfredo Casella, L´Aquila, Italy, was a huge success - the four international combos performed about a dozen selections from the Berklee Publication New Standards: 101 Lead Sheets by Women Composers and enjoyed Master Classes by bassist Federica Michisanti, vocalist Marta Caponi, pianist Paolo DiSabatini, vocalist Chanda Rule, and myself and jammed the night away at the Vienna ZWE and Frau Mayer - we'll do it again, video coming soon!

Tune in to the livestream of a Talking Jazz Live show on interactive concepts as well as 3 days of sessions focusing on Artistic Research in Jazz and Popular Music at the 4th gathering of the International Network for Artistic Research in Jazz (INARJ) October 4-6. I'm excited to announce a new partnership with Management Company Green Door Artist Management in New York. Watch for some new projects and initiatives soon.
