IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES GUIDELINES
Big Brothers Big Sisters is following NJ state guidelines related to COVID-19. We continue to expect our matches to follow CDC and State guidance on Covid safety and in-person interactions -- see the link below to review our guidelines. We ask that you follow these recommendations and discuss mask wearing and activities with each other (parent/guardian/volunteer/child) when planning outings.

PUMPKINS & CORN MAZES
Fall is here and it is time for all the fun fall things! Grab a couple of small pumpkins and do a creative activity like one of those from the link below! Or, take a trip to a pumpkin patch such as Sahl’s Father Son Farm, located at 420 W. Pestalozzi Ave, Galloway NJ. There are lots of free and low cost activities to do this time of year!

BOO AT THE ZOO
The Cape May County Park and Zoo’s annual “Boo at the Zoo” event will take place on Sat., Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Cape May County Park, in Cape May Court House. This event is free and open to the public. Visitors of all ages are invited to wear a costume to this fun family event, which includes activities for the kids, craft station, games, candy, entertainment, animals, inflatable obstacle course, pirate ship and more.

TRUNK OR TREAT
Trunk or Treats will be happening all across South Jersey toward the end of October. Simply google your city and the words "trunk or treat" to find out when and where! We found one unique Trunk or Treat held by the Cape May Animal Welfare Society that will have a Trunk or Treat for kids, and a separate one for animals! Big Brothers Big Sisters will be at then Lower Township Trunk or Treat, so if you're in the area, please come visit us! Click the links below for more information on those Trunk or Treats!

TAKE A HIKE!
It is the perfect weather to go for a walk or a hike at a nearby park or nature reserve. Google one near you, bring snacks and water to have a picnic, play a game as you walk such as the Wokemon app, or think of something on your own to make your walk in the park a little more fun!

FALL FESTIVALS
There are tons of fun festivals happening during this time of year! We have found a few the area, but feel free to look for a festival in your town! Each of the links below will take you to the relative fall fest!
Good Old Days Festival takes place at the JFK Park in Somers Point on September 10th, from 11am-6pm. This festival is a tradition that happens every year! There will be live music, antique cars, vendors, entertainment, and more!
Upper Township Fall Festival is on Sunday, October 9th, from 10am-5pm. It will be located at Amanda's Field.
The Ocean City Fall Block Party will be held on Saturday, October 8th, from 9am-5pm. This will take place between 5th-14th streets along Asbury Ave.
The Funny Farm Animal Rescue will have their annual Fall Festival on Sunday, October 9th, from 9am-4pm. The Funny Farm is located in Mays Landing, NJ.
Fall Fest at Creamy Acres takes place on October 22nd, from 10am-4pm. Creamy Acres is a farm located at 448 Lincoln Mills Road, Mullica Hill, NJ.

"HOW TO HUNT THE JERSEY DEVIL"
This fun, interesting event happens on Tuesday, October 11th at 6:30pm at the Ocean City Library in Library Room N111. It is free admission, and no registration is required.
Author Tony DiGerolamo stops by to give a talk about his new comedy/horror book series, The Pineys, about a family of hunters that hunts the kin of the Jersey Devil. He'll be discussing the Jersey Devil, South Jersey witches, and other local folklore and history, much of which is featured in his books. Check it out at the link below!

BIG IDEAS PODCAST
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America has created a podcast called Big Ideas to offer tips to volunteers and families on how to make the most of their relationship. During each episode, you’ll hear from a Big and a parent as they share how they’ve enriched their mentoring relationship through positive experiences, collaboration, and engagement.

HOTSPOTS & MORE FROM THE LIBRARY
The Atlantic County Library currently has 25 T-Mobile Wi-Fi hotspots in circulation for adults. Each hotspot can connect up to 15 devices with unlimited high-speed data to-go at no charge. For more information, click the link below.
