WILLIAM WARFIELD VOCAL COMPETITION SEEKS AUDITION TAPES FROM BLACK HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Do you know a Black vocalist in grades 9-12? Encourage them to apply for this exciting opportunity!
The William Warfield Scholarship Fund is accepting applications for its 4th Annual Classical Vocal Competition for African-American High School Students until October 10, 2022. Submissions consist of an online application, one letter of recommendation from a teacher describing musical aptitude and potential, and a Youtube or Vimeo link to a video including one selection (maximum 5 minutes). There is no cost to apply.
Five finalists will be selected to receive coaching in a virtual class with a professional vocalist on Saturday, October 22nd, and submit a video for final judging by Friday, October 28th. The Final Virtual Competition will be held on Saturday, November 5th, 2022. All finalists will receive cash awards ranging from $500 to $2,000 to support their musical careers. Artistic merit and financial need are considered in the adjudication process.
