Sarah Jeon first encountered Hands4Hope at the "club day" event at Folsom Middle School when she was in 8th grade, and she has kept her participation in her on-campus Club through her high school years. Now as a senior, she serves as Vista Del Lago's Hands4Hope Club President, and is also serving on the Youth Board Executive Committee as the Folsom Community Engagement Ambassador. Read on to learn more about Sarah's journey, and what Sarah's staff mentors have to say about her.

MEET SARAH

The 7th Annual Hands4Hope Fall Festival at El Dorado Hills Town Center will kick off the fall season with fun for the whole family on Saturday, October 12 from 11 am to 4 pm, and Sunday, October 13 from 10 am to 4 pm. The event features more than 15 games and activities for children of all ages, including an updated obstacle course in partnership with KidStrong, plus classic fall activities like the hay ride pulled by a vintage tractor from Veerkamp Engineering, face painting, and pumpkin decorating.

The Fall Festival Committee of 20 youth have been working hard to plan this event since July, but they can't make it happen without many, many more volunteers during the weekend itself. Youth in 6th to 12th grade and adults are needed; and there is no registration fee to sign up for this opportunity. Right now, 212 shifts are available! Can you help?

We also are asking for donations of non-chocolate candy to use as prizes for the carnival games. Thank you to everyone who contributes to this event's success!

The 11th annual Hands4Hope Warm & Fuzzy Drive kicks off today and runs through the month of October. This year we are accepting the following donations:

  • New or gently used jackets and coats
  • New socks
  • New underwear
  • New sports bras
  • New pajamas
  • New leggings
  • New athletic pants

All of the donations will be counted and sorted, and transformed into the Winter Boutique "shopping" experience for families in need, youth and children in foster care, and others who benefit from this assistance to stay warm and healthy during the cold winter months.

Hands4Hope Youth once again participated in the annual Folsom Community Service Day, a city-wide day of projects that benefit all sectors of the community. Hands4Hope focused its efforts on assisting with the food drive for Twin Lakes Food Bank. Sarah Jeon, the Folsom Community Engagement Ambassador on the Youth Board Executive Committee, interviewed other Hands4Hope participants during the event and created a video about their experiences. Check it out!

Tickets are available now for the 2nd Annual Nashville Songwriters Live Benefit Concert at Folsom's Harris Center for the Arts on December 17, 2024! The audience raved last year about the memorable and intimate opportunity to listen to songwriters Jeffery Steele, Mark Mackay, and CJ Solar play their music and tell the stories behind their hit songs. Don't miss out this year!

Sponsorship opportunities are available now.

NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS LIVE 2024

For 16 years, El Dorado Disposal’s support has grown with Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference, with a shared passion for serving the local community. This year, they significantly increased their sponsorship to provide more opportunities for developing young leaders into civic minded and socially responsible citizens, and continue to be champions of the vision behind the Placerville Hands4Hope Youth Center.

Fun fact: They also contributed one of the most unique prizes in the Hands4Hope Endless Summer Beach Party silent auction — a certificate for a dumpster, an item that proved to be as popular as it was practical.

We are so grateful to have El Dorado Disposal as a long-time partner and supporter.
