Sixth Taxing District News
Next Commissioners Meeting will be on October 21 at 7:00PM. For those that would like to attend, we will post a Zoom link on the 6TD website and will share an agenda by October 19.
The 6TD developed guidelines for the Community Fence with leaders from a range of Rowayton organizations. These guidelines can be found on the 6TD’s website here. Following the September Commissioners meeting, there was input from several residents that these guidelines should be modified. The 6TD would like to encourage residents to submit suggestions for review and possible modifications to the guidelines.

Rowayton Gardeners
Green and Growing
Did you know that, in addition to the programs, events, environmental initiatives and education that we offer in our community, the Rowayton Gardeners are stewards of 8 Community Gardens in Rowayton? Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our 2020 Spring Market, Christmas Market and other revenue-producing programs that the Gardeners conduct annually have been canceled or curtailed. As a result, we are facing a projected deficit of over $20,000 this year.
Hundreds of volunteer hours and over $11,000 annually remain earmarked for maintenance and upkeep of the Community Gardens. If you and your family enjoy the green spaces that we care for and all that we do in our seaside village, please consider making a contribution at:
Please ‘Dig in’ to help the Rowayton Gardeners
keep Rowayton Green and Growing.
We are grateful for your support!

Rowayton Turkey Trot 2020 is (virtually) on!
Our Trot has become a great Thanksgiving tradition, and this year will be no different.
We are hosting our event virtually. Run or walk the 5k or 1mile route anytime from the Saturday before, thru 12pm on Thanksgiving. Routes will be marked, and you will be able to post your 5k time on our website to share and brag with your family and friends. If friends and family cannot be here this year, they can register to run a 5k route anywhere in the US, and also post their times on our website.
Entry fees or donations will as always go to benefit local Not for Profits, who have been hard hit this year by COVID.
Thank you for keeping our tradition alive!

Water Emergency
There’s a water emergency in Norwalk, so please check norwalkct.org for the irrigation schedule if you must water. Also, washing cars, trucks, trailers, or boats except at automated facilities is prohibited, as is washing walks, driveways and porches. Conserve our precious resources!
And, thank you, volunteers, who picked up 1,100 lbs. of trash along the Norwalk River! If you’d like to participate in future clean ups, please follow @skiptheplasticnorwalk.
