October Newsletter - Annual Volunteer Dinner Special
Over the past 30 years we have helped thousands of families find a safe place to
sleep, a nourishing meal, access to available services, much needed compassion and a
path toward a better life and stable housing - and we couldn't have done it with the dedication of our volunteers and the support of the community!

The Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner honors the volunteers who are the driving force of our organization and make what we do possible. Featuring a cocktail reception, elegant dinner and tricky tray, the highlights of the evening are inspiring speeches from honorees, sponsors and past program graduates. Our Community Impact Award, sponsored by Greenberg Traurig, allows us to honor some of the year’s most impactful volunteers.

Family Promise of Morris County (FPMC) partners with public and private agencies, religious congregations and community volunteers to offer a continuum of services, providing a path from homelessness to self-sufficiency for families and individuals.
Programs and services provided include temporary shelter, case management, transitional and permanent housing, outreach programs and a drop-in center.

Your support is vital in helping us continue to strengthen support for local families. Our sponsorship opportunities provide significant visibility and exposure throughout Morris County through our network of supporters and followers. At each sponsorship level, company exposure is granted before, during and after the event. Sponsorship
builds brand awareness, helps you promote goodwill and public relations, and develops positive community and employee relations, ultimately driving more traffic to your business.
A special thank you to Greenberg Traurig for being the naming sponsor of $25,000.00 for the last 13 years!

Honoree : Michele Caruso
Role(s) with Family Promise:Volunteer, Making Moves Matter
How Michele got involved with Family Promise:
When Michele relocated to Morris County two years ago, she knew that she wanted to continue her work with at-risk families. When she discovered Family Promise of Morris County and learned of its success with homelessness, she knew that she had found her volunteer home! With her social work background, it was easy for her to bond with the current guests and learn about their specific needs and future goals. She loves playing “Santa” each week, as she can provide the guests with specific shoe and clothing requests that have been donated or purchased.
No matter what state she is residing in, Michele takes her service to the community very seriously; she is no stranger to non-profit organizations. Michele has proudly served on boards, created programs, and single-handedly raised more than $25,000 in one year!
One of Michele’s proudest achievements to date is the creation of the Making Moves Matter program. It was created to lessen the financial burden on families and help new residents experience self-sufficiency. On the day Family Promise guests move into a new residence - one they have been waiting for and working toward, the Making Moves Matter team of volunteers arrives with all the necessary household items. They clean, hang shower curtains, make beds, organize the kitchen, stock the fridge and cupboards, and spread their love throughout the new living space. To date, Michele and her Making Moves Matter teams of volunteers have worked in conjunction with the Family Promise staff to secure and set up more than 22 homes!
