Mid-October 2026 | Business • Community • Recovery

The Recovery Continues. The Momentum Is Ours.

Recovery is a journey, and across Malibu and Pacific Palisades, the momentum is building! Our businesses are reopening, new shops and restaurants are welcoming customers, and our communities are finding fresh reasons to come together. Don't forget our farmers markets, and make time to explore the growing collection of local businesses continuing to bring a commercial core back to the Palisades--from polished jewelry and fashion to Pali Trading Post décor, Elizabeth Lamont home furnishings, Marram Kitchen, Synergy Homes, Polaris Builders, and so many more.

We're also celebrating Malibu City Council's recent decision to move forward with soccer fields at the Ioki lot, a welcome investment in community recreation. Looking ahead, in-person voting comes to the PaliBu Chamber and Palisades Recovery Coalition headquarters at 15233 La Cruz Drive beginning October 26, and we'll be bringing commercial property owners together for a Zoom discussion in early November to address the challenges and opportunities of rebuilding our business districts.

The recovery is far from over, but progress is happening all around us—and every visit, purchase, partnership, and investment matters. Follow PaliBu, reach out, and tell us what you'd like to see more of. Watch for our upcoming Business Recovery Survey, an important step toward identifying needs, attracting resources, and directing meaningful investment into our commercial recovery.

Together, we're not just rebuilding—we're shaping what's next.

Resource & Recovery Expo: A Community Comes Together

On October 11, downtown Pacific Palisades became a walkable marketplace for recovery as PaliBu brought together more than 150 exhibitors, including builders, architects, lenders, public agencies, nonprofits, and local businesses.

Despite threatening skies, our community came out to connect with experts, explore solutions, and support one another.

Three expert panels addressed financing, building and architecture, and the public policies shaping recovery.

A heartfelt thank-you to our exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, panelists, and the City of Los Angeles for helping make this ambitious event possible.

In the News:

thank you to all the exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers and attendees that made the day great! Look for the next Expo in 2027.
