Strengthen Safe Babies Court Teams

Prevent Child Abuse Arizona is thrilled to have been awarded the Court Teams for Infants and Toddlers grant through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). PCAAZ’s statewide Infant-Toddler Court (ITC) program, Best for Babies, works to increase shared knowledge of the unique needs of infants and toddlers involved in the child protection system, and increase community collaboration to improve outcomes for those children.
This grant will strengthen Best for Babies in Arizona by advancing statewide coordination of ITCs, enhancing the Zero to Three Safe Babies Court Team (SBCT) approach in three existing ITC sites, and creating opportunities for shared learning and improvement statewide…

Statewide Safe Babies Court Teams Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Statewide Safe Babies Court Teams Coordinator will work in collaboration with judicial and child welfare leadership, community partners, and identified sites to enhance three Safe Babies Court Teams (SBCT) in Arizona through planning, implementation, training, and evaluation.
The Statewide Coordinator will also convene the state-level leadership team, county-based court teams, and other stakeholders to promote coordination and collaboration; provide community-wide and SBCT-specific training opportunities; and conduct ongoing data collection for outcome tracking. The Coordinator will explore and champion prevention services statewide to reduce out-of-home placement for infants and toddlers.

Chick-fil-A® restaurants in the Phoenix area are teaming up to host “Brownies for Benefits,” a fundraiser from Oct. 10 through Oct. 15 to support Prevent Child Abuse Arizona.
For each Chocolate Fudge Brownie sold during the fundraiser, participating restaurants will donate $1 to PCA Arizona.
“After meeting the with the Prevent Child Abuse Arizona team and learning about their mission, it was evident how much it aligned with our goal of being the world’s most caring company and doing our part to help the most vulnerable in Arizona,” said Sarah Rodriguez, local restaurant operator of Chick-fil-A Prescott Valley Crossroads.

Instead of writing a Director’s Corner this month, Prevent Child Abuse Arizona Executive Director Claire Louge would like to highlight the ‘Strong Families, Happy Kids’ column in Prescott Woman magazine. Talented author Hilary Dartt writes this column for Prevent Child Abuse Arizona each quarter to support parents with actionable tips and strategies they can use to create environments in which their children can thrive.
This quarter’s column, on page 27 of Prescott Woman's October/November issue, is titled "Help: Giving and Receiving It to Build a Supportive Community for Families."
