We’re closing out October with gratitude and renewed momentum after an incredible month of advocacy, education, and connection. Last week, Accessia Health staff and patient advocates took to Capitol Hill for our 2025 Advocacy for Access Day. Together, we urged for support for policies that protect patients from harmful coverage barriers and that ensure financial assistance counts toward their care. A full recap will be featured in our upcoming Advocacy and Policy newsletter, so be sure to subscribe on our website to read more.

Our three-part webinar series, "Knowledge in Action: Hemophilia Care Series," brings together patients, advocates, and healthcare professionals to address critical issues in emergency response, care transitions, and access for individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders.

Finally, we’re pleased to welcome James Johnson as Executive Vice President of Operations and Alan Wood as Executive Vice President of Development and Growth to the Accessia Health leadership team. Their decades of experience across healthcare and nonprofit sectors will strengthen our mission and advance equitable access to care for all.

As we look ahead to the rest of the year, I’m grateful for your continued partnership and engagement. It was clear from our initial feedback of Advocacy for Access Day that the impact we're making is being felt across the country. Thank you for being a part of our mission.

Advocacy for Access Day

On Wednesday, October 15th, Accessia Health staff members and patient advocates took to Capitol Hill for our 2025 Advocacy for Access Day. Our message was clear: patient access matters. Together, we voiced our support on key policy priorities, urging lawmakers to advance legislation that protects patients from harmful coverage barriers and ensures assistance counts toward their care.

Thank you to our patient advocates for taking time out of their schedules to attend and share their stories on how the work of Accessia Health has helped them alleviate the financial stress that comes with having a rare disease or chronic condition. With the progression of key bills focused on reducing barriers to care and improving affordability for patients, your voices have never been more important.

We'll be doing a deeper recap into our Hill Day experience in our upcoming quarterly Advocacy and Policy newsletter. Take a minute to subscribe on our website below.

Upcoming Webinars

Register for our upcoming webinars "Knowledge In Action: Hemophilia Care Series". Partnered with the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation, patients, advocates, and healthcare professional attendees will focus on addressing critical care issues, strategies on providing for individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders, and how to navigate the healthcare system as an advocate for change across three sessions.

SESSION 1: TUESDAY, OCT. 28 | 2PM

This session will review emergency protocols, triage strategies, and real-life case studies to support safer care during high-risk situations.

SESSION 2: THURSDAY, NOV. 6 | 2PM
