Message From Your President

Dear Chamber Members,

As summer continues to battle for another moment or two, it is time to start planning for our upcoming fall and winter events. Fall into Grafton is less than a week away and the festivities have already begun. Makes sure to join us on October 5 th for a fun day of events including the Pumpkin Derby.

Dustin and his daughter, Audrey, at the 2018 Fall into Grafton Pumpkin Derby.
In addition to our family and community events, we are once again ramping up our Young Professional Group for the winter months. Preparations for our two most popular events have begun. We will have our 2 nd annual Friendsgiving gathering on Wednesday, November 13 th, so save the date and join us! In December, our Ugly Sweater and Gift Exchange will return with its own brand of unique networking. We are looking to increase the reach of our Young Professional network, but we need your help. Please encourage any interested employees and colleagues to reach out to Sarah at the Chamber, sarah@grafton-wi.org, to get on our e-mail list for future events.

Thank you again for your support of our community events and continuing to raise awareness.

- Dustin Beck

Transportation Continues to be a Challenge in Ozaukee County

Currently, there is a proposed elimination of the MCTS 42U bus route to the MATC - Mequon Campus (the only public transportation that brings students and community members to the Campus and to Concordia University). MATC Leadership met with senior MCTS staff and the key and decisive takeaway was that there are no viable mass transit options for our students/community due to the elimination of the 42U bus route. In addition, there was recent article in the Milwaukee Journal indicating that the bus route to Oak Creek had been restored, however, there was no mention of the route to the Mequon Campus.

Keep in mind that many of MATC's programs require clinical, practicum, and job placement components and that commuter students choose to stay in Ozaukee County to fill the many available jobs. Therefore, the MATC Mequon not only provides the education, but also helps to create a healthier workforce, stronger economy and happier families.

Chamber Member MATC Mequon is asking for our help.  Please consider  completing the survey that is linked by CLICKING HERE. Also, please feel free to contact the members of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors listed below to share your concerns.
