Pick up and Drop off Reminders:
Hours of operation will remain 6:45am-5:30pm. Please be mindful of the time you are picking your child up. Late fees will be assessed when you pick up your child after the center is closed.

When driving in the parking lot, please drive safely. While parents are doing their best to keep their kids safe as well, we know that sometimes their little feet run faster than we can. It takes all of us to keep our families safe in the parking lot so please be conscious of how you are driving as you pick up and drop off your children.

Toothbrushing:
Just a reminder, our center will begin brushing teeth in rooms 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. The children will be brushing their teeth everyday after lunch/before nap. We will be providing the toothbrushes and toothpaste for the children to use.

Schedule Changes:
Reminder we require a two week notice for schedule changes for your child. These schedule changes include changing from full-time to part-time or changing days for a prolonged period of time if you are already utilizing part-time care.

If you are changing your days for just a single week, we do not need 2 weeks notice, however, we do prefer to know a week ahead to ensure your child's classroom is staffed properly. Keep in mind, changing your day is never guaranteed. With many of our classrooms being full, we may not always be able to accommodate schedule changes.
Halloween Costume Safety...

Enjoy a safe and happy Halloween by following these guidelines from FDA, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

  • Wear costumes that say “flame resistant” on the label. If you make your costume, use flame-resistant fabrics such as polyester or nylon.
  • Wear bright, reflective costumes or add strips of reflective tape so you’ll be more visible; make sure the costumes aren’t so long that you’re in danger of tripping.
  • Wear makeup and hats rather than costume masks that can obscure your vision.
  • Test the makeup you plan to use in advance. Put a small amount on the arm of the person who will be wearing it. If a rash, redness, swelling, or other signs of irritation develop where the makeup was applied, that's a sign of a possible allergy.
  • Vibrantly colored makeup is popular at Halloween. Check the FDA’s list of color additives to see if the colors are FDA approved. If they aren’t approved for their intended use, don’t use them. This is especially important for colored makeup around the eyes.
  • Don’t wear decorative (colored) contact lenses that appear to change how your eyes look due to the risk of eye injury, unless you have seen an eye care professional for a proper fitting and been given instructions for how to use the lenses.

Exposure to Lead

Emotions...
We understand that children share a wide range of emotions and learning how to work through them is sometimes tough work for a child. Here are a few books we would like to share to help your child work through their emotions.

Older Infants:
  • "The Pout Pout Fish" - Swim along with the pout-pout fish as he discovers that being glum and spreading dreary wearies isn't really his destiny.
  • "Llama Llama Red Pajama" - llama being put to bed at night. He gets scared and thinks his Mama left him. HIs Mama just needs some time to herself, but she comforts Llama until he is able to fall asleep

Toddler Books:
  • "Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses" - Pete the Cat wakes up feeling grumpy. But with the help of some magic sunglasses, Pete learns that a good mood has been inside him all along.
  • "Bear Feels Scared" - Bad weather frightens Bear, but his woodland friends are there to help him

Preschool Books:
  • "Sometimes I'm Bombaloo" - Sometimes, Katie loses her temper. Sometimes she uses her feet and her fists instead of words. When Katie is this mad, she's just not herself. Sometimes, she's BOMBALOO.
  • "The Good Egg" - discusses self-care and acceptance;. a "good" egg whose kind and generous acts endlessly conflict with the "bad" eggs.
