2020 Elections
Congratulations to Ashley Aune for keeping the 14th Representative
District Blue!

Condolences to our other candidates who despite their best efforts lost to inferior opponents. Especially David Park and Vic Abundis who were attacked by ugly, false mailing campaigns that are typical of desperate Platte County Republicans.
The passage of Amendment #3 will negatively affect all Missourians and especially Missouri Democrats for years to come. The simple message of "You voted overwhelmingly for political reform two years ago and now they want to take it away!" didn't come through!
Platte County Democrats Virtual Election Headquarters
Despite some problems, the Platte County Democratic Virtual Headquarters can be considered a success.

350 Biden/Harris yard signs, 200 Biden/Harris bumper stickers and many yard signs for our county-wide candidates were delivered. Thanks to Duane Whorton, Mike Brazil, Dick Williams and Cliff and Angela Weiser for all the hours and miles delivering yard signs.

Many contacts were made with those that wanted to volunteer and candidates who needed their help.

All the hits on our Virtual Headquarters webpage passed on election information to those who viewed the page.

Also, thanks to John Kirchmeier, Duane Whorton, and David Christian for helping our candidates place yard signs at Platte County voting sites.
Platte County Federated Women's Democratic Club
The Women’s Club met via Zoom on October 12. New business acknowledged thank you cards received from Ashley Aune and David Park. It was decided to donate an additional $100 to David Park's campaign.

Carol Clopton said that she will send information on poll monitoring to Melba Nicolaisen for distribution to members. It was noted that Nicole Galloway was facing an ethics attack in political ads and that the wording of Amendment #3 was misleading even after being changed by a judge's order.
Platte Country Democratic Central Committee
The Central Committee met via Zoom on October 15. It was decided to purchase Amendment #3 yard signs. They were distributed to those who requested them and Stacey Webb volunteered to place them at conspicuous locations in the county.

Approval was given to place an ad in local newspapers to promote our county wide candidates and defeat of Amendment #3. You can view a copy of the ad here.
As we’re digesting the beginning of the end of four years of Donald Trump, a grueling election season, and heart-breaking losses in Missouri, we want to make sure we’re turning to you - our volunteers, supporters, and donors - to get your honest opinion on the good, the bad, and the ugly.
We’re compiling answers so we can adjust and improve strategies going forward. We want to know what you think worked and what didn’t because we’re looking ahead to local elections all across the state next year and a U.S. Senate races in 2022 and 2024.

We know the process to win back seats starts right now and we need you to be part of it.

Thank you,
Missouri Democratic Party
