October 2013
Issue: #12

October 5-13 was Navaratri, the Vedic festival to honor the Divine Universal Energy.  Around the world, people use this time to celebrate Mother Goddess as the Devi trinity: purification (Kali), creativity (Sarasvati), and prosperity (Lakshmi).

Kaliji spends October spreading the TriYoga message around the planet, beginning the month in Southern California with programs in Malibu and a live KRIYA broadcast from the ashram in Mission Viejo.

Kaliji then travels to Europe as  a featured presenter and teacher at the Inside Yoga Conference in Frankfurt (one of the largest conferences in Europe), October 18-20. All of Kaliji's programs were fully booked in advance! Following the conference, Kaliji has programs organized by the TYCs in Allershausen and Bad Toelz.  On her way "hOMe" from Europe, Kaliji will teach at TriYoga Center Boston, Oct 25-27.

 Message from Yogini Kaliji

The essence of navaratri

is the eternal principal of

universal energy.

It is timeless, it pervades everywhere;

it is the fabric of this creation.

As the body relaxes, the breath flows.

As the breath flows, the mind calms.

As the mind calms, energy awakens.

As energy awakens, consciousness expands.

It is likened to the mother

who introduces the baby to the father.

In the same way, it is universal energy

 that reveals our true Self.

Fennel, Avocado and Orange Salad

Combine 1 bulb fennel (chopped fine), 1 orange, 1 avocado.

Blend together the juice of 1 lemon, 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil, pepper, salt and green herbs (and ginger and nutmeg powder, if you like).

Add the lemon sauce to the chopped veggies, top with pine nuts and enjoy this lively flavor combination!
