Dr. Grace Richter was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology effective October 1, 2020. Dr. Richter also serves as the director of the Glaucoma Service and Glaucoma Fellowship Program.

Ryan Lacey received Keck Medicine of USC's 2020 Rookie WOW Award (pictured above). Ryan joined the USC Care Ambulatory team as the Director of the Ophthalmology service line in late 2019. He received the award in part due to his remarkable response to COVID-19, which allowed the USC Roski Eye Institute to stay safe and operational during the pandemic.

In the News

ABC affiliate KGTV-TV (San Diego) quoted Annie Nguyen, MD, about studies on how COVID-19 can enter the body through the eyes. The story was picked up by KGUN-TV (Tucson, Ariz.) and WXYZ-TV (Detroit).

The Lighthouse Guild featured an interview with Mark Humayun, MD, PhD, on their podcast On Tech & Vision with Dr. Cal Roberts, in the episode titled "The Development of Artificial Vision."

USC Annenberg Media quoted Dr. Gloria Chiu, OD, FAAO, FSLS, on the importance of the 20-20-20 rule to release certain stress on eye muscles when spending extended time on Zoom.
