PRIORITIES AND TRANSPARENCY
Understanding the priorities of Vina residents is one of our primary goals for 2027. We want to ensure that our programs, activities, and the associated budget reflect the interests and needs of our neighborhood.
Your Voice Matters 📣
To help us better understand what matters most to you, we have developed a community survey that will be launched soon. We respect your time and have worked to keep the survey brief while still gathering the meaningful input needed to guide our decisions. We strongly encourage every resident to take a few minutes to complete it, your voice matters!
A Clear View of the 2027 Budget 💵
We are also committed to greater transparency in our planning and decision making. To that end, we plan to present the proposed 2027 Association budget at the Annual Members’ Dinner in the first quarter of 2027.
Quarterly Financial Updates 📊
In addition, we have developed new reporting tools that will allow us to provide quarterly financial updates on our website. These efforts will help keep residents informed about how membership funds are being used and the progress we are making toward our community’s shared priorities.
NEIGHBORHOOD UPDATES
A Brighter Welcome to Vina 🐬
The long-awaited lighting at the Vina del Mar entry sign has been restored, once again illuminating this neighborhood landmark and creating a warm welcome after sunset.
Our community marquee sign at the corner of 21st Ave and West Vina has also been thoroughly cleaned out, and is being prepared for new landscaping. Replanting will begin soon, bringing fresh color and curb appeal to this highly visible neighborhood space.
These improvements are only the beginning, we have many more beautification projects on the way. We look forward to sharing our progress as we continue working to make Vina del Mar an even more beautiful place to call home.
Vina Park Playground Update 🌳
The Board continues to work with the City to address neighborhood concerns. We are pleased to share that these efforts helped secure a new bench for the playground area.
Unfortunately, the City has also informed us that due to the cost of replacements parts and budget constraints the playground slide may not be replaced before the park’s capital improvement project scheduled for 2029. In the meantime, the City will remove the slide and secure the affected area to help keep the playground safe and usable.
We understand how disappointing this news is for Vina families. The Board is actively exploring alternative funding opportunities, including grants and a potential partnership with the City, in hopes of finding an earlier solution.
Introducing Vina Gives Back ❤️
A strong community is about more than where we live, it is also about how we care for one another. On Saturday, November 14 starting at 9:00 am VDMIA will host our first Vina Gives Back event at Vina Park, bringing neighbors together to support organizations serving our local community.
The event will include a Daystar Life food drive, a OneBlood blood drive, and Woofie’s mobile grooming, with 100% of Woofie’s proceeds donated to Daystar Life.
Residents can participate by donating nonperishable food, giving blood or scheduling a grooming service. Every contribution, large or small, will help make a difference.
We hope Vina Gives Back will become an annual tradition centered around one simple idea: neighbors helping neighbors.
