Susan Marino

Attending art school from a young age, Susan Marino has always had a flair for artistic expression. While managing a restaurant in Kansas City, Marino began making jewelry and explored photography. Once the pandemic hit in 2020 she shifted her focus to painting. Her paintings feature psychedelic colors portrayed through dots or pointillism that draw your attention and catch the eye. Marino’s painting extends to furniture pieces where she uses Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® from The Abode. You can see some of these pieces in our shop and don’t miss her vibrant dot paintings next time you come by.

What once started in the backroom of a wholesale florist shop has now grown to incorporate gifts and home décor available now at The Abode. The Bathroom

Another original room of The Abode’s historical architecture, this room still has the same shower, bathtub, and tile since construction! We carry products commonly found in bathrooms, such as lotions, room sprays, facial oils and moisturizers, soaps, and hairbrushes. Adorned with art from some of our featured artists hangs on the walls. Treat yourself, or a loved one, to a spa-like experience with specially curated products from this room. Come by and sample some of the products and even create a personalized spa package.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Take part in our mini pumpkin decorating contest! To enter, decorate a mini pumpkin and bring it to The Abode by October 14th. You may purchase your own mini pumpkin or get one for free with a purchase at The Abode, while supplies last. Paint, draw, or embellish your mini pumpkin. Please no carving or puncturing. Small-sized pumpkins only, under 6 pounds. Voting will be open from October 15th-30th so stop by and vote for your favorite one!

Join us as we teach some of the basic to advanced techniques of painting furniture using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® on Saturday, October 15th from 1-4 p.m. Come learn all the best furniture painting techniques!

Costume Party on 10/27

Dying to have fun? Come eat, drink, and be scary with us! Let your inner child dominate and dress up in your favorite costume. It’s a chance to turn the clock back a few decades and have a fun fright. We’ll have giveaways, costume contests, and treats to win! The party starts on October 27th at 6 p.m. here at The Abode!
