Sharing the love and hope of Christ while empowering our neighbors with

education, employment, and crisis support. 💛

Dear friends of The CARE Center,

What a meaningful month October has been. As members of our community, you have continually shown up by giving time, encouragement, and generosity. We are reminded again that the work we do is only possible because of neighbors like you who believe in caring for one another.

Our month’s biggest highlight was our Gregg Berens Memorial “I Golf Because I CARE” Fundraising Tournament, a beautiful day on the course honoring Gregg’s legacy and celebrating the spirit of generosity he embodied. As our only fundraising tournament of the year, the event was a tremendous success thanks to our incredible sponsors, golfers, and volunteers. Your contributions directly sustain the programs that bring help and healing to families across our rural communities.

We’re also excited to welcome all local high school juniors and seniors to our invaluable Don’t Fret, Just Prep event on this upcoming Saturday, November 1st, from 12 pm to 3 pm! This empowering afternoon will provide practical guidance on FAFSA, college and career planning, and local job opportunities. We encourage you to share the details of this free event with other students and families who could benefit from this valuable resource.

And as we head into the holiday season, our hearts turn toward one of our favorite annual traditions: the Christmas Store! Please consider donating new toys to support children in need during the holiday. Details, including the deadline, Amazon wishlist, and drop-off details, are listed below. Your generosity helps make Christmas brighter for so many families in our community!

Thank you for continuing to walk alongside us. Your compassion, time, and generosity fuel every story of hope that begins at The CARE Center.

Blessings,

Andrea Bridges

Male Mentors Needed

We are seeking responsible male mentors for the school day and our after-school programs. These mentors are crucial in providing guidance and support to the youth in our community. Applicants must be available to meet with their assigned child at school at least once a week during the school day or our after-school program and pass a background check. If you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people, we encourage you to reach out and become a mentor.

If you're interested, please contact us: Call 256.723.2273 or email info@thecare-center.org.

Food Pantry Wish List

Our food pantry shelves are a little bare right now, so as you go grocery shopping, would you be willing to pick up some extra items for our Food Pantry? To make it more convenient for you, we have an Amazon Wish List where you can order items and have them shipped directly to our Business Office. All donations help ensure food stability for our neighbors during difficult times. Thank you for your support!

Meal Ministry Volunteers

“Do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Is volunteering on your heart? We are currently seeking volunteers to help support our meal ministries!

If you're interested in getting involved, we want to hear from you!
