We are making progress toward our goal of 400 members this year, but we still need your help. Your membership directly supports our outreach programs, including the more than 100 events we participate in each year, from our largest events, like Spring VegFest, to our unique 30-Day Pledge, engaging presentations, and fun Meetups. With all we have going on at VegMichigan, your annual support is very important to us and helps us grow the plant-based movement in Michigan. A recent 30-Day Pledge participant sent us the following comment, which continues to show we are having an impact. We have lots of fun gift items to choose from as a thank you for your support, and you'll also get a discounted rate on our Thanksgiving Dinner on November 19. Join or renew here. | | Thank you for giving me tempeh at the Local Food Fest in Kerrytown! I was familiar with tofu but had never tried tempeh before. I looked up a recipe with a marinade and loved it! It’s now become a new staple in my (mostly) plant-based diet. Thank you for introducing me to it! -Dilek

ALPPE IDECR ADN GEVAN ONUDTS | | | | Crack the System: End Chick Culling | | Sadly, each year, an estimated 7 billion male chicks are killed worldwide because they cannot lay eggs and are considered unprofitable by the egg industry. Mercy for Animals (MFA) recently conducted an undercover investigation, bringing new light to this cruel practice. Solutions such as in-ovo sexing can identify male embryos before they hatch, eliminating the need for this process. MFA’s Crack the System campaign is working to end chick culling and bring this hidden act into public view. Learn more and take action at EndChickCulling.org, and share #CrackTheSystem on your social media platforms.
| Take Action: Deer Survey Open Until November 1 | | | | Please take a few minutes to weigh in on the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) deer survey, which asks residents whether they support allowing their private property to be used for the lethal management of deer. The survey is open through November 1. Make your voice heard to help protect deer in Southeast Michigan. Read more here and take the survey. Thanks for standing up for deer in our communities. | | Thanks for Another Successful Fall Food and Fun Night | | Thanks to everyone who came out to our 2nd annual Fall Food and Fun Night and helped to make it a big success! It was a little warm for a bonfire, but the kids loved the vegan s'mores. We would also like to thank our wonderful vendors and volunteers for making the event special!
