Market Updates

Four years ago, the S&P 500 reached its lowest level of the 2022 bear market in October. At the time, inflation was climbing at its fastest pace since the 1970s, the Federal Reserve was raising interest rates rapidly, and recession fears were widespread. Sentiment among consumers, businesses, and investors was deeply negative, and it was difficult to imagine conditions improving.

Fast forward to today, and the situation couldn’t feel more different. Major indices are near all-time highs and the economy has been resilient, driving corporate earnings higher and keeping the unemployment rate low. Inflation is still a challenge with energy prices being a key source of uncertainty this year, but it is no longer rising at a double-digit pace.1 The S&P 500 has more than doubled over this period, supporting investors who have maintained a long-term focus in their portfolios and financial plans.

As the bull market enters its fifth year, the shift in investor sentiment over this period is an important reminder that market and economic conditions can turn around when they’re least expected. And while this is all positive for long-term investors who stuck to their plans, the goal is neither to celebrate nor become complacent, but to stay balanced and focused on long-term financial goals.

LPL Transition Update

As a reminder, all Commonwealth accounts will transfer to LPL on November 14. Don’t worry—nothing is changing with our office and team. We’ll be here to help with any changes to your online access and answer any questions along the way.

Event Recap and Welcome Evan

BridgeQuest Turns 10!

A decade ago, we took a leap of faith and set out to build the kind of firm we believed clients deserved, one where relationships come first and advice is guided by our clients' best interests. This month, we had the privilege of celebrating our 10-year anniversary at Silo alongside many of the clients, friends, and team members who have made this journey possible. We are deeply grateful for the trust you've placed in us over the years and proud of what we've built together. Thank you for being part of our story. We look forward to serving you for many years to come.

Meet Evan Flint, the newest member of our team.

Speaking of our event, you may have met our newest BridgeQuest team member, Evan Flint. She has hit the ground running, scheduling client meetings and improving our office processes.

A graduate of Kansas State University who continued her education at Michigan State University, Evan brings an extensive background in customer service and hospitality and a passion for building meaningful relationships. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her 3-year-old daughter and her 6-year-old basset hound, Boris, serving at church, reading, trying new restaurants, and embracing life as a serial hobbyist who is always exploring a new activity or skill. She looks forward to getting to know our clients and supporting them on their financial journey.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
