Being prepared for the near future and the future-future – how do we do this? There’s no better way than to be involved in industry organizations. This is your time to step up your membership commitment with MPI New Jersey.
Attending educational programs is great, and to get the most out of the event plan to show up early and network with your colleagues. Additionally, know what is happening with your clients and partners. Understand the new trends and what our industry is talking about. Make a new connection.
If you can't show up in person, take advantage of all of the wonderful virtual events that are now available. Be the first to know what is happening in the industry and in your market. What does the customer have to say and how is the hotel set up to accommodate? This is valuable information to help you succeed.
While you are enhancing your commitment volunteer to be part of a committee. Volunteering is the best way to have a say in what is happening in the organization and to play a part in influencing what is important to you. Be a part of a team – the benefits cannot be overstated.
Your MPI membership should not just be a line item on your resume, take full advantage. Reach out to your MPI New Jersey Board to see how you can connect, reenergize, and be prepared. We are meeting again and welcome your involvement.

What is the best career advice you’ve received?
When I was in sales. my boss told me to put myself in the project I was working on – be the project.
What is your favorite city to travel to and why?
I love the Raleigh Durham area. It’s so green and plush, especially when you are flying in. When I was in sales I used to travel to NC quite a bit. I always looked forward to those trips.
