Join Us for a Thanksgiving Feast & Fundraiser

Sunday, November 16, 2pm - 6pm

You're invited to a Vegan Thanksgiving Dinner & Fundraiser on Sunday, November 16, hosted by VegMichigan and Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary to benefit both nonprofits. Our friends at Vegano Italiano will be preparing a delicious vegan dinner with their famous "meatloaf" and all your favorite Thanksgiving side dishes. A suggested donation of $10 at the door supports both organizations. A full meal will be available for $20, with additional sides for purchase. Throughout the event, Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary will offer guided tours of the sanctuary, giving guests the chance to meet the rescued rabbits and learn about the organization's work. The sanctuary is located at 8260 Judd Rd, Willis, MI 48191. Come anytime between 2pm and 6pm. Donations and meal purchases will be made at the event, but please RSVP in advance so we know to save you a seat. Come hungry, bring friends, and enjoy a lovely afternoon while helping two great nonprofits.

Support VegMichigan Through Membership

Since the beginning of 2025, we have hosted or participated in over 80 free-admission events and two festivals, reaching thousands of people around the state with the plant-based message! Please help us continue this amazing momentum by joining or renewing your membership, or donating to VegMichigan. If it has been a while since you've donated or renewed, there is no better time to support our mission of promoting plant-based eating through fun, non-judgmental outreach programs.

This year was our 24th annual VegFest, and it was a huge success with 8,000 attendees at Eastern Market in Detroit! We enjoyed a day filled with positive energy, delicious food, and a sense of community. 76% of attendees who completed our survey, and who are not already vegan, said they will eat more plant-based meals after attending the event, and another 20% said they might eat more plant-based meals.

We are continuing to expand our unique 30-Day Plant-Based Pledge, in which participants commit to eating more plant-based meals for 30 days and receive a free bag of three plant-based food items to get started. Participants also receive a weekly email for the month about the benefits of eating plant-based meals, along with tips and resources for incorporating plant-based meals into their lives. Nearly 93% of respondents said they will continue to eat more plant-based meals after participating in the pledge, and 7% of respondents said they might continue to eat more plant-based meals after participating in the pledge.

Presentations promoting the benefits of plant-based eating at libraries, community centers, faith-based organizations, student groups, college classrooms, and other locations continue to be a popular form of outreach, and with two on-staff presenters, our presentations have been very well received. 97% of non-vegan survey respondents said they are interested in eating more plant-based meals after attending. Thanks for helping to make this work possible!
