Amazing turnout for this month’s Breakfast Club networking! Easily the largest attendance we have had in a very long time. It’s exciting to see this networking opportunity continue to grow and expand each month. As always, there is a mix of new and regular attendees and the exchange of ideas and professional contact information is the core of this event. Our increasing numbers each month are quickly filling up the entire back room of Brother's- let's keep it going! Remember it’s hard to expand your own individual horizons of network opportunities if you are not in attendance. So - what’s holding YOU back?  See you next month on Thursday November 3, at 8:00 am at Brother’s!

I am not sure how, but in case you missed it, Wakefield Town Day was a tremendous success! The lower common was filled with over 75 vendors, crafters, local non-profits and various town departments. The food vendors were fabulous and completely swamped by the hungry hoards of attendees seeking their delicious servings of pizza, steak tips, bratwurst, fried dough, Richie’s Slush and delicious smoothies and much much more!! The beer garden provided by Idle Hands Brewery was rocking along with the crowd while being entertained with a fabulous live musical performance by the Wakefield School of Rock! The Rec. Department was hosting a corn hole tournament, the Wakefield Health Department was providing a Flu Shot clinic, while the Wakefield Fire, Police, DPW, Municipal Gas Light, along Cataldo Ambulance showcased a “Touch a Truck“ area. The children enjoyed face painting, a talented magician, balloons and so much more.

A very special thanks to all who contributed but a very special thanks and acknowledgement to Town Administrator Steve Maio, Erin Kokinda, Community and Economic Development Director and Jennifer McDonald, Communications Director, for each going above and beyond to make this a very memorable afternoon for all. It was beautiful day to enjoy and celebrate all that is good about Wakefield! If you missed it, then all I can say is see you next year!

We happily welcomed another new member to the Chamber: Stonehill Law Office. Please join us for a Ribbon Cutting and welcoming them to Wakefield on Thursday October 27 at 4:00 pm, 591 North Ave, Door 1, Floor 2, Wakefield, MA, 01880.

Also, while you are out and about, please plan on joining us a little later on that same afternoon of the 27th for an Anniversary and Open House celebration at McGuire Kitchen and Bath on North Ave. Watch for the email invitational flyer.

Remember we have the return of our Wakefield 101 for new residents on Thursday evening October 20 in the Civic Center. Also, that same evening for members we have a multi-chamber event in Waltham.

In partnership with the Wakefield Police Department, on Wednesday morning October 26, we are promoting a very timely and educational session on how to prepare and protect yourself for the unexpected with a session on “An Active Shooter in the Work Place’ It is an unfortunate sign of the times that we should need to consider such a session, but we all need to be aware and prepared.

The Chamber is also introducing a new “Women in Business" platform to encourage a greater interaction and sharing of business acumen and knowledge among our female members of the Chamber. If interested, please take advantage of this welcoming opportunity to share and listen to strategies and experiences of those around you who share similar concerns and challenges on Wednesday October 26 at 11:30am at the Dockside Restaurant here in Wakefield.

Lastly, look for the information that will be coming your way regarding another Multi-Chamber After Hours networking on Wednesday November 2, 2002. This will be held at the Faces Brewing Co. 50 Pleasant St., Malden between 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. Appetizers and a cash bar will be available.
Once again, a reminder that while the Chamber does it’s best to provide and share with you as much information as possible regarding events here in Wakefield, we still highly recommend that you subscribe to the Town’s listserv as the Town sends out notifications on upcoming public meetings all the time. Please find more information here on joining: https://www.wakefield.ma.us/subscribe.
This would be very helpful in staying up-to-date on what is going on in Town. We also recommend following the Towns Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TownofWakefieldMA
Thank you all once again for continuing to support your Chamber.
