Across the nation, ACA open enrollment begins November 1st.
Out 2 Enroll offers many resources on their site to support LGBTQ+ health consumers. Here is some helpful information:
Health plans and prices change each year - and the amount of financial help they can get may change too.
80% of LGBT people want to meet with an assister that understands LGBT-specific issues. Consumers can get free in-person LGBT friendly help from an expert using Out 2 Enroll's Locator Tool.
LGBTQ people are protected from discrimination in health care and health insurance. Section 1557's non-discrimination protections are still in place.
Health insurance is better than ever for transgender people who can expect more and demand more. Trans consumers should enroll and expect that transition-related care will be covered.

Out for Mental Health is seeking LGBTQ advocates who are passionate about mental health to sign on as local liaisons with our campaign. Local liaisons will be a crucial part of the Out for Mental Health team: supporting the project's education, outreach and advocacy goals; providing feedback; and being among the first stakeholders to learn about project activities as they launch. We are looking for liaisons in all parts of California, with diverse representation from each of the Mental Health Regions: Superior Counties, Central Counties, Bay Area Counties, Southern Counties and the Los Angeles Region.
We would love to hear about the great things you are doing in the community! If you have a program you think others could benefit from learning about, please let us know so that we can include you in our Member Spotlight.
Are you hosting or participating in a conference, symposium, training, or other event in California? Please let us know and we will share it with the Network.
The California LGBT Health and Human Services Network is starting a blog and we'd love to have you - our community members - be guest writers. Do you have something to say about LGBTQ folks and the areas of health care, mental health, public health, sexual health, substance use, income inequality, or social services? Do you have resource suggestions or an organization accessible to the community that you would like to share? Would you like folks on the network to know about a community need or the great work you are doing? If the answer is yes to any of these, please contact us! You can submit content to our Outreach and Advocacy Coordinator at [email protected]
