President, IREM Maryland Chapter
Members of IREM Maryland, including most of the Executive Council, recently attended the IREM Global Summit in Hollywood, Florida. First-time attendees included Beverly Willis, Melissa Moore, Kristy Meyers, and Lisa Bowen. We learned best practices to improve our chapter, attended educational sessions to improve our job performance, and we heard from inspirational speakers. Of course, we also managed to have fun! Our Chapter Dinner was a private dinner on a 69' yacht touring the Intercoastal Waterway.
Do you want to join in the fun next year? Make plans to attend the 2019 Global Summit, being held September 23 - 26 in San Francisco. We're lucky that our chapter pays the way for a couple of up-and-coming leaders. Will it be you next year?

IREM Spotlight: Autism Speaks Walk
|
On Sunday, 10/14/2018 team IREM Maryland took part in the Autism Speaks Walk. The walk is the world's largest autism fundraising event dedicated to improving the lives of people with Autism. Powered by the love of parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, relatives, and supporters, the funds raised help ensure people of all abilities have access to the tools needed to lead 'their best lives'.
We are proud to announce that our team finished in the top 10 for money raised with a total of $4,700! Thank you to all those who donated to such a great cause and to the individuals who joined us for the walk!

Save the Date: Horizon Day Camp Walk for Pediatric Cancer

Horizon Day Camp, one of the charity recipients from this
 year's Golf Tournament, will be hosting a walking event in October and they want you to join! Here is a note from Mark McElrath, Executive Director at Horizon Day Camp:
"We are preparing for our HorizonWALKS event, which is one of our signature community events that occurs October 28 in Baltimore at Camden Yards. It's a community walk and fall festival around both of the sports stadiums; it includes live musical entertainment, mascots, carnival games, cheerleaders, special guests, face-painting, arts/crafts, and more. We are recognizing IREM as a sponsor as a small token of thanks for your philanthropic support. We would also like to invite you all and any IREM friends to attend."

IREM MD Gives Back!

During our September meeting our chapter collected donations for our adopted Veteran Clarence. It was a great outcome with so many of our members and Industry Partners donating canned food, toiletries, housewares, and supplies for Clarence! Thank you to everyone who made a contribution, Clarence was extremely touched and truly appreciated the donations! There is still so much Clarence is in need of.
