DIRECTOR'S DIALOGUE

Gordon
Well it's fall, or is it? Looks like we are enjoying the last days of summer before the latter part of fall and winter begins.

Billy, our pool contractor, is loving this good/dry weather . The milder the fall, the more building can be completed before the winter shuts down construction!

Thank you to all of our families who have re-enrolled we appreciate your continued support. Also, welcome to all of our new families who have enrolled, we can't wait for you to share in the Breezemont Experience in 2017.

We are busy, enrolling new campers, hiring new staff and planning new improved activities, events and programs for next summer. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Have a Happy Halloween to all.

Warmest regards,
Gordon and the rest of the full time staff (Jeff, Walter, Sandy and Matt)

Meet Billy "The Pool Guy", he is hard at work making sure our pools are ready for summer!

In addition to our pools we've got more exciting things coming for 2017. Look out for more info in future Newsletters!

BREEZEMONT GIVES BACK YEAR ROUND
Breezemont will be holding a food drive at this year's Fall Open House in partnership with the Hillside Food Outreach program. We invite and encourage anyone who has baby supplies, personal hygiene items and of course food to spare to please bring them with you to camp on October 29th. What's nice about working with this program is that they hand deliver each and every item directly to families in need. There are over 2,400 people served in Westchester and Fairfield counties. The holiday's are right around the corner and nothing feels better than knowing that you helped a hungry family!

Each summer we raise money for our two favorite charities (
Project Morry and Friends of Karen). We also added a food drive this past summer to help the Mt. Kisco Food Pantry. We are excited to share those totals with you...

Food Pantry - 546 pounds of food
Friends of Karen - $5,232
Project Morry - $3,345

As always, we thank you for your generosity and for taking them time to help show our campers how important it is to Give Back to our Community. Thank you for being a part of our Camp Family and sharing your time and efforts throughout the year.
SHOUT OUT FOR GIVING BACK
Even our Alumni are in the giving spirit! Former Camper Leo G celebrated his birthday on October 18 (Kings and Queens to you Leo!) This year, instead of presents Leo asked all of his friends and family to donate to Project Morry! We are thrilled to have such a wonderful camp community that is eager to help others. Thank you to the entire Greco Family for sharing :)
TEAL PUMPKIN PROJECT

Each year Halloween brings anxiety for families who have kids with allergies. The Teal Pumpkin Project is aiming to reduce that anxiety. Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) started encouraging families and businesses to place a teal pumpkin near their door as a sign that there were treats safe for kids with allergies in 2014. Since then the project has been embraced in all 50 states and 14 countries.

Here at Breezemont, we are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of allergy, is able to enjoy a worry free summer. We are participants in the Teal Pumpkin Project and will have allergy-friendly treats at our Fall Open House. We are also a drop off point for anyone who'd like to donate allergy-friendly treats to be distributed in the community.
