WDB Oneida County Re-Entry Taskforce (RTF) Program Success
By Credible Messenger Conant Rose
In August, WDB RTF Director Jeremy Esch received a short notice about a job fair happening in Rome the next day. Without missing a beat, the RTF team jumped into action—calling our clients encouraging participation, and even providing round-trip commuter passes for those who needed transportation.
Some of our clients stopped by our office to polish up their resumes, and by the end of the day, five of our job seekers had signed up to attend the job fair.
The best part? Of those five, two of our clients were offered jobs on the spot and have already started working as forklift operators!
This is a huge win for RTF and our clients, and we’re proud to celebrate their success!
Congratulations, Clients!

From Roadblocks to a Fresh Start: J.B.’s Journey
By Madison County Working Solutions Workforce Development Counselor Katie Mahar
When J.B. first came into the Career Center in April, he was eager to work but felt weighed down by barriers like limited transportation and a criminal justice-involved background, working hard to maintain sobriety. Together, we built a structured, personalized plan: applying directly on employer websites, following up on past applications, and keeping detailed records of his job search.
With consistent support and guidance, J.B. stayed focused and kept showing up. His hard work paid off — he was hired and recently called to let us know he is still employed and doing well.
J.B.’s journey shows that recovery, growth, and career success are all possible with commitment, determination, and the right support system.
Congratulations, J.B!
