October 2022 Newsletter

Springvale Public Library

Announcements: We will be closed on Monday, October 10th for the observance of Indigenous Peoples Day.

The bugs are just about all worked out after migrating to our new system. Thank you so much for your patience as we have been learning the new workflow. If you would like us to show you how to use the new catalog just ask at the front desk. Maine Cat is now up and running as well, there is a trick to requesting items through Maine Cat. Go directly to the website mainecat.maine.edu

We will be working on the Annual Appeal mailings this month. If you would like to be a part of the mailing or you would like to help with the behind-the-scenes work you can email us at spl@springvalelibrary.org

We are still selling Book Art! The volunteers had so much fun folding and decorating– we are thinking we might do more book art sessions in the future. Let us know if this is something you would to do!

We are also planning a mini book and craft sale in the basement to happen for the holidays. Details will be in the next newsletter.

 From the Director:

Dear Friends,

What a success this year’s book sale and fall festival was which would not have happened without all of our volunteers. Thank you, each and every one of you for all your time, sweat, and support. The other part of this success is, of course, our patrons and friends who came out on blustery days to discover books, crafts, pumpkin feeder crafts, jewelry, and some amazing music. To you all-an enormous thank you! We couldn’t have done it without you.

Lesley Unger

Library Director

PS...Kids Free to Grow is doing its annual diaper drive. If you are able to donate, we have a collection box in the lobby.
