October 2021
We continue to be able to worship in person. PRAISE GOD! However, COVID-19 guidelines are still in place. Masks are strongly encouraged and as well as observing social distancing.

If you don't feel comfortable coming in person, we still continue to offer our service via Facebook Livestream as well as posting the videos to our YouTube channel.
Things are starting to get back to "normal" again so we wanted to let everyone know what's happening at East Ridge UMC!
We are excited to welcome Vincent Hale as our new Worship Leader! Vincent is a graduate of the Center of Creative Arts. He holds a Bachelor degree in Vocal Performance and a Master of Music in Opera/Music Theatre, as well as a Master of Arts from the University of Notre Dame. He has sung and travelled with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers. He brings a wealth of experience and talent to share with us as we begin our worship journey together.
We are so blessed to have him join us!
October is Pastor appreciation month. Please take a moment to let Pastor Natalie know that she is appreciated for her shepherding of our congregation.
In case you are wondering about the transformation in use of the New Vision Sunday School classroom, it is now being used by East Ridge Cares 4 Babies.
Their mission is to help babies and small children by providing clothing, diapers and other necessities which are provided through donations and grants. They help mothers who are trying to establish a stable home and regain custody of their children. Low income, single mothers who need a helping hand are another focus as well as homeless mothers living in the hotels.
PLEASE do not leave items outside the New Vision Classroom or elsewhere for this ministry. Please message Marcy for handoff information. They are accepting CLEAN, GENTLY USED items in addition to new items. The clothing sizes being accepted are 0-24 months, 2T-4T. At this time sizes over 4T cannot be accepted. Thank you!
Conatct EastRidgeCares@gmail.com or Marcy Hall, 423.316.9038 with any questions or desire to assist in their mission.
We are in the process of putting together a new Church Family Directory. If you have not had your picture made at the church and want to be included, email a selfie to mary@ortweinfamily.com.com.
Also, please send any change of address or phone number to the same email address.
A Time For Vision
The past year and a half has been a challenge for us all, and the church is not an exception.
We know much has changed and new challenges have arisen, but so have the opportunities for mission and living out our faith in community.
As we enter into a new time for the church, it is important that we ponder these and other questions:
Who are we?
What are our needs and strengths?
Who are our neighbors?
As we begin to answer these questions, we will also discover God’s direction for us as a community of faith. God has blessed East Ridge UMC and continues to provide in surprising ways.  We may see what we lack, but God sees what is possible. Visioning is a tool that can help us move from worrying about scarcity to celebrating the abundance given by God.
Our next meeting will be October 17, following the worship service. Everyone is invited, even if you have not attended any previous meetings.
Please join us in this important planning for the future of East Ridge UMC.
For those not attending in-person worship on Communion Sunday (First Sunday of the Month), at home communion packs are available.

Just contact Pastor Natalie and we will make arrangements to get one delivered to you.
Join us for these opportunities of fellowship, laughter and study:

Sunday School - Sunday mornings at 9:30 am.

Donations for the UMCOR Flood Bucket Relief Effort are still being accepted.

Buckets containing cleaning supplies are put together and delivered, enabling those affected by floods, hurricanes and tornadoes to begin the overwhelming job of cleaning up.

Make you checks out to East Ridge United Methodist Church and put "UMCOR" in the memo. 100% of all donations go straight to the relief effort
For God loved the world so much that He gave…
Giving is an act of love. We give because God first loved us and He freely offers us salvation. Your donation to East Ridge UMC helps spread the message of God’s love.
We now offer three ways to Give
