Message from President Dot Muir

Hi to you all again, seems as though I just wrote September's newsletter and here we are into October. Lots going on again at our Center this month.


All Candidate meeting in our lunch room on Thursday, October 3rd at 1:30.

Your questions for the candidates should be written down and handed in to the Center 's front desk.


Nanaimo trip to Casino or shopping on October 5th. Leaves the Center at 9am and home by 5pm. $40.00 bus fee. Sign up and pay by Monday, September 30th.


R.C.M.P. Scam and Fraud information session is being held in our lunch room on Thursday October 17th at 10 am. So many different types of ways for scammers to con us. It will be a good info session and maybe save some of us a lot of money.


October 14th is Thanksgiving Day. The Center will be open for bingo and Susan's famous hot dog sale, $5.00 for hotdog , pop and chips. I hear it's french fries this time.


Friday Oct. 11th the kitchen will be doing a short version of a turkey dinner.

Price is the usual $10.00 for turkey, stuffing , potato and veggie.


Our fall Garage Sale Oct.18 &19th start time is 9am. cutoff for donation's is Oct.14th


Our Halloween Pot Luck is Thursday, October 17th at 3:00 until ? It's BYOB. Prizes for best costumes. Entertainment to be announced.


October 24th is our monthly crib tournament, $10.00 entry fee; starts at 11am.


So that's it for this month. I hope you all take part and enjoy what we have to offer.

The sale will be held on Saturday, November 23, 10 to 2, in the entrance hallway.

Four Directors Appointed by Board

The recent bylaw changes have been certified by the BC Registrar.


Kathy Rae and Thomasine Lick are appointed as Directors at Large until AGM 2025.

Lori Tait and Nora Henry are appointed as Directors at Large until AGM 2026.

September Birthdays

On the last Friday of each month we celebrate members who have travelled around the sun once again. Cake is served at 12:30 to dining room patrons.
