With heavy hearts we share news of the passing of Connie Fowler, a beloved friend in our Enrichment Club day program. A talented artist, Connie especially enjoyed coloring and crafting. Her sweet disposition, loving spirit, and gentle affection is greatly missed. Our hearts are with the Fowler and Oliver families during this difficult time. | A group of volunteers from Primoris Heavy Civil spent their Saturday morning cleaning up our backyard in preparation for our amazing backyard remodel. Primoris has identified the Dementia Enrichment Center as providing meaningful and valuable services to residents of Belton and the surrounding communities and is gifting us a complete renovation of our backyard space. Last month the project team presented us with plans that include walking paths, new fencing, outdoor enrichment areas, gardens, picnic tables, a new chicken coop, and more! We are excited to watch this transformation and share it with you!

Together Events are a unique opportunity for people with dementia and their caregiver to participate in free activities together at the Dementia Enrichment Center. These activities provide a time to laugh, connect, and create positive memories together while connecting with others in your shared journey. Together Events are also a great way to familiarize your loved one with the Center and our staff, establishing trust and comfort for future Enrichment Club participation. If the caregiver isn't available, any friend or family member is welcome to attend.

Sandra & Hailey as Walk Ambassadors
Walk to End Alzheimer's
Across the nation every Fall, individuals and teams are participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's, an outreach and fundraising effort to support education, research, and awareness for Alzheimer's and other dementias. For each Walk event, five members of the community are invited to be ambassadors. This year, a participant in our Enrichment Club day program, a member of our Dementia Partners group, and the Founder & Director of the Dementia Enrichment Center were honored to represent individuals living with dementia, dementia caregivers, and community members dedicated to the cause, respectively.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Walk team! The Alzheimer's Association provides free community education classes at the Dementia Enrichment Center, provides materials and support for caregivers, and endorses and publicizes the Dementia Partners support group. When you give to the Alzheimer's Association, you are supporting caregivers, people with dementia, and our organization. If you haven't given yet, please make a donation to support advancement in dementia research, support, and education.
