The Art of Play
Explore something new in the known.
It’s easy to fall into familiar patterns—in daily life and in class. We often find a way that works, and repeat it. This month, let’s bring curiosity to the patterns and see what else is available.
October's focus is play: experimenting, paying attention, trying something new.
Some examples of ways explore:
- Texture: Let a movement be fluid, then give it a clear, sharp accent.
- Direction: Reach beyond straight ahead. Explore circles, diagonals, and the space around you.
- Rhythm: Change the timing of a familiar step.
- Expression: Let your mood shape your movement—and notice whether your mood shifts as you dance.
Leave room for discovery.
Bring your curiosity and let's dance!
From my dancing heart to yours,
Megan
