Celebrating 5 years of global connections and cultural exchange: SAVE THE DATE for the 2026 Global Community Day Festival
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, join AU Outreach Global at the Opelika Amphitheater (1001 SportsPlex Parkway, Opelika, AL 36801) from 9:30am to 3:00pm for a day filled with cultural exchange and international experiences. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public!
The 2026 Global Community Day Festival will draw in international and domestic communities from Auburn, Opelika, and the surrounding areas to experience a day dedicated to intercultural education. Activities throughout the day will include the Parade of the Flags, the Vendor Trade Fair, the Global Attire Showcase, musical performances, dance demonstrations, international food trucks, arts and crafts, sports, and games.
Over the past five years, the festival has grown into a beloved community tradition, bringing people together and creating opportunities to learn from one another. The festival provides a space for community members, student groups, clubs and organizations, as well as governmental and trade groups, to engage with one another and embrace the many unique cultures represented within our community.
If you are interested in having a booth at the festival, performing a talent, participating in the Parade of the Flags or Global Attire Showcase (cultural fashion show), or sharing your culture in some other way, please contact Olivia Houlden (oph0007@auburn.edu, 334-844-5787). If you would like to register as a vendor and sell goods/food, please reach out to oph0007@auburn.edu. For more information, please visit our website at aub.ie/globalfestival.
Businesses or organizations interested in partnering with Outreach Global as festival sponsors are encouraged to contact Dr. Elizabeth Quansah (eid0001@auburn.edu, 334-844-5716).
We look forward to seeing you next year.
We will be back in Opelika in 2026!
