Greetings Northshore Tigers,

We persevered through the month of September! I would like to thank our teachers who have worked diligently during this uncertain time as this is not an easy task. However, our teachers’ commitment to excellence is unwavering.

Parents, attendance is very important so thank you for having your scholar at school every day at the appropriate time so they can receive their lessons. All parents should have received progress reports a few weeks ago. Please use this time to set goals with your scholar to motivate them to reach their full potential.

This year we will be data-driven to ensure our scholars are growing. Our scholars took their NWEA baseline testing in September so we can have a starting point for each individual child. Scholars will take their 1st round of Campus-Based Assessment testing the week of October 12th-15th to measure what they’ve learned up to this point. The teachers will help scholars to set growth goals from the results. We will continually plan and deliver exciting, engaging, and rigorous instruction to help our scholars deeply master objectives and grow in all academic areas. Our entire team is excited to witness the growth our scholars will make.

Allow me to take this moment to spotlight our top sellers for our Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser! Congratulations to Elijah Lightfoot, Jordan Ibarra, Zakari Loudd, Sa’Von Green, & Noah Miller! These scholars have earned money to help pay for their school fees all while benefitting RSPA! Congratulations scholars!!

We remain committed to keeping the staff and scholars healthy and safe while we navigate through this pandemic. Rest assured, we are following all CDC Guidelines and taking every precaution to keep everyone safe.
The month of October is full of exciting events for our scholars and families. We are planning some awesome activities to motivate our scholars to achieve at their highest level. This month, we will roll out incentives for perfect attendance and honor roll. We will also celebrate Custodian’s Day, Boss’ Day, Red Ribbon Week, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We will have SLEDs parent conferences tied into our Character Day and Trunk or Treat. We will need parental support to ensure all these fun activities happen. Please see the dates below.

Thanks to all our parents who have continued to support us. I appreciate every parent that showed up for our 1st PTC meeting in September. Please be present for our October PTC Meeting and Meetings with McBride where we will vote for our new PTC president and officers.

Let’s continue our great partnership to ensure our scholars will have the best school year ever.

Educationally yours,
Tonya McBride, M.Ed.
