|   |   |   |   | Rancho Cordova City Council Greenlights Sports-Anchored Entertainment District |    | At its September 23 meeting, the Rancho Cordova City Council approved an Economic Development and Participation Agreement that would pave the way for a world-class sports-anchored entertainment district in the heart of the city. 
 The district is designed to host world-class events and community events, including up to 40 concerts a year, while also becoming the new home of professional sports. Cordova Arena will host two newly awarded Major Arena Soccer League teams—both men’s and women’s—placing Rancho Cordova on the national stage alongside the MASL’s 12 teams competing across the United States and Mexico.

 The Ecosystem will bring together innovation, education, and infrastructure through partnerships with organizations such as the Human Machine Collaboration Institute (HMCI), NVIDIA, Solidigm, FarmGPU, and SMUD.  
 By aligning workforce training, advanced infrastructure, and a business-friendly environment, the Ecosystem is being designed to position Rancho Cordova as a regional hub for growth in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and research and development sectors.

 Hear directly from the mayor about exciting city updates, upcoming projects, and what’s ahead for our community.  
 At this year’s State of the City, the mayor will also unveil a puzzle of Rancho Cordova, designed by famous puzzle artist Eric Dowdle. Free puzzles will be given to attendees (one per household, limit of 200). After the event, puzzles will be available on the city’s merchandise site.

His journey has not been an easy one—marked by resistance, setbacks, and repeated struggles with homelessness and substance abuse. Miguel entered and completed the Chronic Offender Rehabilitation Effort (CORE) program twice in the past, only to find himself back on the streets. The CORE program is an initiative aimed at dressing behaviors of repeat offenders to break the cycle of criminal behavior.

 When Bentley suddenly started having accidents in the house, his family was worried and confused. He was fully potty-trained, so this behavior was completely out of character. Unsure of what to do, they even considered rehoming him. Thankfully, they reached out to our Animal Services Officers, who listened with empathy and encouraged them to apply to our Animal Services Assistance Program (ASAP).

 For months, residents have reported a group of reckless youth riding motorized bikes throughout the community. They have been seen running red lights, tearing up fields, and making people feel unsafe.  
 Recently, thanks to the teamwork between Rancho Cordova PD, School Resource Officers, new technology, and our community, the individuals responsible were caught.

 RCPD’s Crime Suppression Unit (CSU) observed a suspicious vehicle outside a closed storage complex during proactive patrol. Inside, officers found about 1.5 ounces of meth and fentanyl, a digital scale, baggies, and $1,230 in cash. The passenger was arrested for possession for sale and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. 
 Targeting fentanyl distribution is a key CSU mission, and the unit continues proactive arrests and investigations to keep Rancho Cordova safe.
