3 Chances to Enjoy Jackie and Other OICMF Artists!

We are pleased to share with you that over the next couple of months you have not one, not two, but three chances to hear our very own Artistic Advisor and House Pianist Jon Kimura Parker (Jackie) live from Houston, on line, free! On two of the concerts, he will be joined by artists we have been fortunate to enjoy as part of past Orcas Island Chamber Music Festivals.

First up, on Wednesday, October 8th at 5:30pm PT, Jackie will be performing with cellist Valentin Radutiu who was such a beautiful part of this year’s Festival. The concert will feature the Brahms Sonata in F Major, Schnittke’s Epilogue from Peer Gynt, and the Franck cello Sonata. Simply click here to watch.

You can enjoy Jackie in a solo recital on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 5:30pm PT performing repertoire featuring Beethoven’s “Appassionata” Sonata and Oscar Peterson’s Blues Etude. You can catch it here.

And finally, on Monday, November 17 at 5:30pm PT, Jackie will appear with two OICMF alumni artists - Cho-Liang Lin, violin, who has performed on Orcas three time, first at our Spring Thank You Concert in 2017 and then as part of both the 2020 and 2024 Festivals and Clive Greensmith, cello, who appeared at the Festival with the Montrose Trio in 2021. This concert will feature Brahms’ Trio in C Major, Op. 87 and Tchaikovsky’s Trio in A Minor, Op. 50 and can be viewed here.

There is no need to preregister - just click the link at concert time to enjoy!

We invite you to relive three very special moments and styles of tangos from our opening New Ears on Tango concert featuring the Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet. Click the arrow above to watch the opening two pieces, performed by the quartet (Nicolas Danielson, violin, Javier Sanchez, bandoneon, Jun Cho, piano, Pedro Giraudo, bass). You'll also see the stunning encore, where the Quartet is joined by Chee-Yun, violin, Aloysia Friedmann, viola, and Valentin Radutiu, cello.

Stay tuned -
