Are you familiar with the phrase "Email Bombing"?
This is a form of cyber attack where criminals send mass amounts of emails to their intended victim(s) in an attempt to overwhelm their inbox and sever.
Email bombing isn't the only cyber attack to be cautious of this Halloween.
Databranch has been seeing a marked increase in phishing attempts that contain sophisticated tactics.
This includes, but is not limited to, emails that appear to be coming from legitimate compromised email accounts.
These phishing emails may come from vendors that you have worked with which makes these email threats even harder to detect.
Because these are legitimate compromised accounts, some of these are being allowed through email filters and malicious content scanners.
Please be continually vigilant and review all emails before opening attachments or clicking links.
If you open a link that then asks for your credentials – do not enter them.
If you are suspicious of an email, reach out to our service team at support@databranch.com or 716-373-4467 option 4, and we will review.
