Happy October!
On behalf of the Northborough Interfaith Clergy Association (NICA), I want to invite you to a special Interfaith Service for Peace this Sunday, October 6th at St. Rose. More information follows below. I hope you’ll be able to join us!

INTERFAITH PRAYER SERVICE FOR PEACE
The Deacons are grateful that the congregation overwhelmingly approved Rev. Will Seals to become our settled Senior Minister. Will has been a breath of fresh air, appreciating Trinity's strengths and helping us work through any challenges. As Deacons, we have gotten to work very closely with him, and as such love his calm demeanor, his thoughtful comments and his humor! We know that God brought Will to us to help us thrive in the future!
As we begin this new chapter in Trinity's history, we can feel the energy that is throughout the church. Its been fun to see the sanctuary buzzing, children going to Children's Church and of course everyone coming together to make Applefest so successful!
The meeting with Paul Nickerson, the consultant we have hired to help us continue to grow, was wonderful and reminded us how special we are! The highlight that came out of that meeting is we are doing a lot for the community, from inside our building. Paul challenged us to think a little differently- How do we be out in the community and build relationships with people in the community?
We will be putting our new Vitality team together to focus on growth, targeted and purposeful. Not to just grow, but to find those who align with Trinity and their values and invite them to an event here.
2025 will be here soon and we are looking forward to finishing 2024 strong with Will's installation and celebrating our future together!

Hello Trinity Community!
It has been great to get back into the flow of music planning, rehearsing and performing! I always enjoy sharing worship with all of you, and providing special music for services, but getting to create music with other people always seems to help me “recharge”! Music is one of the few areas of life where anyone is included and everyone belongs. Hmm.. Sounds like a great church I know. 🙂
I’m excited for the variety of worship we will get to experience this month. Check out the information below for specific details for each week of October.
- October 6th: Traditional Communion Service with a beautiful Prelude provided by the Hand Bell Choir.
- October 13th: Service Music provided by the Worship Band
- The Special Music will bring together the Adult Voice Choir and the Band for a grand arrangement of “Better Is One Day”.
- Faith Formations Sunday: Interactive song during Children’s Moment, and don’t forget about Music & Movement following the service with Mr. Scott.
- October 19th: Central Mass Baptist Assoc Fall Worship Service
- October 20th: The Low Voice Ensemble will make another appearance to sing a song called “Think About his Love”.
- October 27th: Special Music provided by Hand Bell Choir
The Song of the Month I have chosen for October is “There is a Redeemer” by Melody Green. Even though this song is technically a praise and worship song, I feel it can be called a modern hymn. It has a melody that basically sings itself. You can listen to it HERE. And for a Sung Benediction, we will be using what is known as the “3-fold Amen”. You can find it on #312 in the Chalice Hymnal. You can listen to it HERE.
And it’s still not too late to join in on the joy of creating music together for the Lord. The Voice Choir can accommodate anyone joining through the end of the month and the Worship Band is open to anyone throughout the year. Reach out if you are interested in those opportunities.
As we enter Fall with the month of October, life seems to get faster and faster. I feel like we just recovered from the success of our involvement with Applefest, and now we are talking about Christmas in music rehearsals. But no matter how fast the revolving door of time spins us around, I hope you are able to always take time to show God’s Love everywhere you go! The Community of Trinity has a superpower: its people
Until We Meet Again,
Scott Arnold (He/Him)
Music Director

NORTHBOROUGH JUNIOR WOMAN'S CLUB

Northborough Junior Woman’s Club, Boros Cares 4 Troops and the Vincent F. Picard American Legion Post 234 will host Wreaths Across America on December 14, 2024 at 12:00 noon.
The Northborough Junior Woman’s Club, Boros Cares 4 Troops and The Vincent F. Picard American Legion Post 234 are fundraising to support the Wreaths Across America being held in Northborough for the first time this year. We are hosting an event at the Howard Street Cemetery to bring awareness to the yearlong mission of the organization, which is to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom.
Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, which was begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992. The organization’s yearlong mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at thousands of veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.
The wreaths are $17 each. If you order two wreaths, Wreaths Across America donates one!

Saturday Breakfast Fellowship is starting up again for the fall on October 19th at 8:30 AM in room 105.
Our topic this month is those verses in the Bible which we wish we never saw. They’re awkward or inconvenient, things which you wish the Bible didn’t say. I decided on this topic after seeing a “Daily Devotional” from the UCC which started with the following scripture.
"Wives, be subject to your husbands as to the Lord, for the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church… Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and trembling, in singleness of heart, as you obey Christ… – Ephesians 5:22-23a, 6:5
Wow!! Two things I can’t unsee. However, they, along with many other things which I wish the Bible didn’t say are in there. Both Old and New Testament. How do we deal with these passages? Do we have to follow them? Can we selectively ignore them or pick only the good passages?
We’ll have breakfast, fellowship, and talk about this on the 19th. Everyone is welcome to join us.
For more information or to add yourself to the Saturday Breakfast Fellowship email list, please contact Tom at tomdan4@gmail.com

The ONA/SJ team will be having two peace, love, social justice gatherings, one on Saturday, October 5th. and the other on October 19th. from 10am to 12 noon.
This will be the same type of events that we did in the spring of 2024. Come one and all. Any amount of time that you can donate is helpful and feel free to bring a sign to carry if desired.

Something You Should Know
“Demonizing immigrants through falsehoods about their diet is a political tactic
that originated in the late 19th. century, during the height of anti-Chinese
sentiment", said May-lee Chai, author and a professor of creative writing at San
Francisco State University.
“It’s a very old political trope to dehumanize Chinese male immigrants and to
show them as a threat to white American workers.” This contributed to violent
attacks against them, and eventually to the passage of the US Chinese Exclusion
Act of 1882 (stopping Chinese immigrants from obtaining US citizenship).
This fearmongering tactic was also used by Grover Cleveland in the 1888 US
presidential election against Benjamin Harrison. Now, it is being used to target
Haitian immigrants whom have already have been given legal status by our
government because they fled the atrocities happening in Haiti.
Trinity Family, our power comes from our knowledge, thoughtful reasoning, and
the values given to us by God the Father. Please use it wisely.

The Faith Formations Committee (formerly known as the Christian Education Committee) would like to welcome all children and youth to Trinity Church! "Children's Church" is scheduled for Sunday, October 13th. On this day there will be a children's story in the sanctuary during the worship service, followed by a 10 -15 minute faith-based lesson which will take place in the 2nd floor classroom, across from the bathrooms.
The children who want to participate will leave the sanctuary with Faith Formations leaders during this time, and will return to their parents/guardians in the sanctuary before the end of the worship service. We hope to see you there!

Give to Trinity Church
“Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands—all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.” – Luke 6:38, Good News translation
Taking our cue from Jesus, looking to God as our Source and Supply for all our needs, let us give to Trinity Church with a cheerful and generous heart, knowing God’s storehouse is always overflowing with abundance – an abundance which can never be diminished or run dry.
Thank you for sharing your time, talent, and treasure with Trinity Church!
If you're paying by check, please make checks payable to Trinity Church. Our mailing address is 23 Main St, Northborough, MA 01532.
You can also use “bill pay” and have your bank mail a check to us on a regular schedule set up by you, at no cost. Or give online at www.trinitynorthborough.org/donate
