WORDS FROM WILL

Dear Trinity Church,

October is Stewardship Month – the time where we prayerfully consider, decide, and dedicate what we will give for the operation of our church in the coming year.

Stewardship is about responsibly managing the resources God has entrusted to us.

These resources – financial, material, and otherwise – are here to serve us. They exist for our use and benefit.

During worship we will learn certain aspects about our stewardship – the importance of our hopes and dreams, how those hopes and dreams are funded, the nature of our work as “The Church of Jesus Christ,” and the treasure that is within us.

It’ll be an exciting time as we focus on living our best life in Christ Jesus!

Grace and peace to you,

Will

DEACONS

Our Racial Justice statement states:

“We stand against racial profiling, police brutality, and racially discriminatory criminal justice practices. We oppose symbols and language of white nationalism.”

Our Supreme Court has approved racial profiling for ICE. Many people of color are living with new found fear. The Bible tells us to welcome the stranger as we were once strangers in a strange land. To love our neighbor.

During these difficult times let us come together as a church family to love and support each other. Especially, our Senior Minister. To pray for peace and work for justice in the hope that love will prevail.

♪ SCOTT’S MUSIC NOTES ♫

Hello Trinity Church Community,

What an exciting start to the Fall Season we have had. September brought many blessings for us! AppleFest was a huge success, Music Ministry ensembles have started rehearsing and performing, & the Sanctuary/Sound System improvements have brought new life to our worship services. I also want to express my utmost gratitude for the outpouring of love and support everyone gave for the presentation of “Worship: the Musical”. I hope it blessed you the same way creating it did for me. 😀

Here is a look at musical happenings for the month of October:

  • October 5 - Hope-themed congregation music as well as a Sing-Along Communion special led by the Adult Voice Choir.
  • October 12 - Service music led by the Worship Band, and an up-lifting Special called “Look Up, Child” by Lauren Daigle.
  • Kid’s Music & Movement with Mr. Scott following the worship service.
  • October 19 - Special Music provided by the HandBell Choir
  • October 26 - Special Music provided by the Adult Voice Choir

For the month of October, we will continue to use a musical Scripture Response in our services, as well as the re-inclusion of a Song of the Month. The praise chorus, “Thy Word is a Lamp” (#326 in Chalice Hymnal) will be our Scripture Response, and verse 1-3 of “How Firm a Foundation” (#618) will be our Song of the Month.

And it’s still not too late to join in on the joy of creating music together for the Lord. The Voice Choir and Worship Band can accommodate anyone joining through the end of the month, and Bell Choir has 1-2 more weeks open for new members until next Season. Reach out if you are interested in those opportunities.

As we enter Fall with the month of October, life seems to get faster and faster. I feel like we just recovered from the success of our involvement with Applefest, and now we are talking about Christmas in music rehearsals. But no matter how fast the revolving door of time spins us around, I hope you are able to always take time to show God’s Love everywhere you go! The Community of Trinity has a superpower: its people

Until We Meet Again,

Scott Arnold (He/Him)

Welcome back to Saturday Breakfast Fellowship for the fall. Our next gathering will be on Saturday October 11th. at 8:30 AM. This is a change from the original date so please make the change on your calendars.

This year, I’m starting something new. We won’t have a specific topic for discussion unless

there’s something which you want to discuss. After 15 years of leading Breakfast Fellowship (yes, 15), I’m running out of ideas for discussion.

So, we’ll gather for breakfast as usual and then talk about what ever topics come up. I’ll also have “Talking Point” cards to help stimulate ideas.

Everyone is welcome to come to Saturday Breakfast Fellowship for breakfast, fellowship, and discussion.

For more information or to add yourself to the Saturday Breakfast Fellowship email list, please contact Tom at tomdan4@gmail.com

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

The task that day that most needs attention is pruning back the Virginia rose shrubs in front of the building, and the rain garden next to Winterberry Way, as well as a couple of Chokecherry trees that have grown a bit tall that need to be pruned back.

This work will allow for more sunlight and space around the other beneficial plants growing around the rose bushes, and greatly improve the appearance of the garden areas.

There will be a supply of clippers, pruners and leather gloves on hand. Feel free to bring your favorite tools from home. To help protect from scratches, please consider wearing sturdy shoes, work pants or jeans, and long sleeves.

If you are interested, please contact John Posluszny or anyone on the Outreach Team.

Trinity Church is now a registered agency with New Life Furniture Bank.

This means that Trinity Church is now able to refer clients to New Life Furniture Bank who are experiencing furniture insecurity.

If you or someone you know is in need of such assistance, please contact John Posluszny or anyone on the Outreach Team.
