A MONTHLY GATHERING OF ENCOURAGEMENT,

CONNECTION AND PURPOSE

FROM THE FOUNDER

Trust the Season

Last month, I invited us to Make Room to Listen. To slow down just enough to notice what keeps coming up, who is being placed in our path, what doors may be opening or closing, and where we may be feeling a nudge toward something different.

But listening doesn't always bring an immediate answer. Sometimes it brings more questions. We find ourselves in a season we didn't choose. A job changes. A relationship shifts. A door closes. Something we've worked toward doesn't happen. We lose someone we love. Or maybe nothing is necessarily wrong, but we simply know something is changing.

Our instinct can be to ask, What's next? I know mine can be! We want the plan. We want clarity. We want to know where all of this is leading. But I'm learning that sometimes we're not supposed to know what's next yet. Sometimes we're simply being asked to trust the season we are in.

That doesn't mean every season is good. Some are incredibly difficult. And it doesn't mean we have to understand why something is happening or pretend that uncertainty doesn't feel uncomfortable. It means believing that this season still matters. There may be something we are learning. Something we need to release. Someone we are meant to notice. A relationship that needs our attention. A new direction beginning quietly. Or perhaps this is simply a season to rest, heal, wait or be present.

We don't have to rush through it to get to whatever comes next. Looking back on my own life, some of the seasons I would never have chosen have shaped me in ways I couldn't see while I was living them. The understanding often came later. The trust had to come first.

THIS MONTH'S INVITATION

Think back to the question we carried through September:

What am I noticing?

Now ask yourself one more:

What would it look like to trust this season instead of trying to rush through it?

Maybe there is something to embrace. Something to release. Someone to reach out to. Or maybe, for now, there is nothing to do at all. Listen. Trust. Stay open. You don't have to know what's next to know that where you are right now still matters.

With gratitude,

Jacki Arena
