Behind the Scenes ...

We're making steady progress at the tag! Children's Museum. The site mobilization and construction team kick off meetings are under way, and we've moved out of our old office and into our new construction trailer. As the view of the property changes and final design is established, we're getting more and more excited about the impact this beautiful museum campus will have on our community.

With each coming issue of our newsletter, we'll highlight a different area of the campus, from exciting pavilions and galleries to beautiful outdoor spaces, all dedicated to bringing playful learning to children and families. Read on to see what's happening ...
The Welcome Pavilion
As the entry point for each and every visitor to the Museum, the Welcome Pavilion sets the tone for the entire campus. Visitors approach via elevated walkways that cross over and through the rain gardens that surround and flow under the building. The rain gardens are a beautiful natural eco system that support wildlife, and serve as an important component of our water conservation system. The building's architecture is fresh, modern, playful, and eco friendly. As with all of tag's buildings, this one is elevated above the ground. It allows us to tread lightly on the land and protect tree roots, while simultaneously keeping the building high and dry in the event of heavy rains.
The Welcome Pavilion is where you'll be greeted for an exciting day at tag! It is also your go-to spot for information, from early learners activities to special events, to scheduling birthday parties. And this will be the coolest place around for celebrating birthdays!

The Welcome Pavilion is available in our naming opportunities program. To find out more about this and other naming opportunities, please contact Kim MacEwan at [email protected]
Connecting

Click left for a video peek at the summer fun we had at our Bodies in Motion workshop. With funding made possible by a grant from the Florida Division of Arts & Culture, children had a unique opportunity to connect with their artistic side.
Special thanks to our friends at Solomon Calhoun Center and St. Johns Cultural Council for collaborating with us on this artfully good time! And thank you, CycleHere Media, for your video magic.
Hey ... are we friends online? You can find tag! on your social media platform of choice. Following our social media accounts and engaging with us online is an easy way to support us, as well as stay connected ... and inspired. We have a lot of new and exciting things planned for our social media pages, so please follow along!
Health and Wellness
We recently had a chance to connect with our friends at The Bird's Nest Day School, and we love their approach to helping kids stay calm through deep breathing. Health and Wellness is one of the five foundations that tag! is built on, so we wanted to pass on these playful, healthful and stress-reducing techniques from The Bird's Nest team:
"S.T.A.R. Breathing: Smile, Take a breath And Relax. Think Grinch smile, deep breath through the nose and then relax your lips and breathe through it."
