Good afternoon Clean Cities Stakeholders!

The Coalition would like to thank everyone who attended our first EV Car Show on Saturday, October 2nd! The Coalition would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Broward County! The Broward County Transportation Department and Air Quality Department were kind enough to display their new EV Transit Bus and Chevy Bolt. Please see pictures below.

The Coalition is currently working with the Central Florida Clean Cities Coalition on a Biodiesel Listening Session for the Department of Energy. The Listening Session is scheduled for Wednesday, October 27th at 10:00am. If any of our Biodiesel Stakeholders would like to participate, please feel free to contact me via email.

Broward County Transit Upgrades to

Electric Buses

Broward Transit buses are getting an upgrade, and it’s electric. The new zero-emission buses are the first in South Florida.

Thursday, September 30th, the county unveiled a new electric car charging station in a county-owned garage, one of five in a new partnership with OBE Energy.

2021 American Rescue Plan (ARP) Electric School Bus Rebates

NOW OPEN: EPA will fund $7 million for electric school bus rebates in underserved communities. The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP) appropriated funds to the EPA for “activities that identify and address disproportionate environmental or public health harms and risks in minority populations or low-income populations” under several programs, including the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA).

Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program

The Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program (49 U.S.C. 5339) makes federal resources available to states and direct recipients to replace, rehabilitate and purchase buses and related equipment and to construct bus-related facilities including technological changes or innovations to modify low or no emission vehicles or facilities.
