EXIM honors WTC Delaware with export partner award
The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) has awarded the Regional Export Promotion Program (REPP) Member of the Year Award to World Trade Center Delaware.
World Trade Center Delaware has been the state’s premier international business resource for 36 years and an EXIM REPP member since 2017.
WTC Delaware’s commitment to collaboration with other government agencies has allowed EXIM to work seamlessly in making sure that Delaware’s exporters are receiving full access to and knowledge of the financing capabilities available to them.
"We rely on the expertise and knowledge that local resources such as WTC Delaware possess to continue advancing our mission at EXIM," said EXIM President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis. "The partnership we have developed with them is invaluable as we work to advance the global competitiveness of global exporters."
"I would advise small businesses to think about exporting as soon as they think about starting a business, because you can be sure their competition is already here or thinking about exporting and preparing," said Carla Stone, president of WTC Delaware.
Above, Nesrin Cakiroglu and Carla Stone of World Trade Center Delaware receive the award.

Gala Registration Closes Friday
|
Registration is now open -- but ends this Friday! -- for the World Trade Center Delaware 2023 Gala, “A Celebration of Ireland and Delaware,” on November 2. Sponsorships are also available.
The event will celebrate the international business community’s achievements and commemorate the ties between Delaware and Ireland, going back to the early 1600s when the first Irish immigrants settled in Delaware. Between the 1820s and 1850s, which included the Irish potato famine, the du Pont company is estimated to have helped more than 1,500 people emigrate from Ireland. Honoring that legacy, and the modern ties between our manufacturing, biotech, and financial industries, this year’s Gala will feature bagpipes and Irish dancers.
The Gala, which supports World Trade Center Delaware’s paid internship program, will take place Thursday, November 2, beginning with cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. It will be held at the Deerfield Golf Club, Newark.
The evening’s honorees will include:
-
Champion of Trade, Kurt Foreman, President and CEO of the Delaware Prosperity Partnership
-
International Humanitarian, Rotary Club of Wilmington and Margi Pruitt, Ukraine Project Leader
-
Small Business International Innovator, SiVad Group, Lenzie Davis, CEO
-
Large Business International Innovator, Corteva Agriscience
