The Board of Directors invites you to join us
for a social hour with food & drinks. The  Board members will introduce you to the activities of your local League.  And, yes,  you will have an opportunity to volunteer to help with events or committees.

The work of the League happens through the volunteer committees and activities. In the current climate, the League is increasingly asked to provide guidance on issues. Some activities your League is active in include:
  • Voter Service - voter guides, candidate forums, education on ballot proposals
  • Advocacy - studying public policy issues and supporting the positions to the public
  • Civic Education - what is going on in your local governments?
  • Media - newsletter, website, social media, print coverage to publicize activities
  • And more!

Voters in the Meridian school district: Vote for Meridian Bond Issue Nov 7

The League of Women Voters of the Midland Area endorses the Meridian Public Schools bond proposal. This bond issue is for 25 years and will raise $20 million to improve the learning environment for the students. Please see this document for details.

Meet with James Barcia, Bay County Executive and learn about the fiscal health and plans for Bay county on October 26 from 6:30 - 7:30 pm at Wirt library. This Public Service Meeting will be hosted by the LWV of Bay County, a unit of the LWV of the Midland Area. Mr. Barcia will be available for questions and comments as well. Please forward this message to friends, family and prospective members. Looking forward to seeing everyone again after a beautiful summer.

Why so many events at Creative360? Creative360 offers a yearly non-profit membership that includes 12 room uses during the day plus discounts for other events. The Gallery offers space for a large event with food. 

Board meetings will be held at Creative360 from now on. They are still the FIRST THURSDAY of each month, except DEC, at 9:30am. DEC Board meeting is Dec 12 at 9:30am before the Holiday Luncheon.
