Enroll in the SCV Water Academy—an exclusive and complimentary educational experience tailored to Santa Clarita Valley residents. Immerse yourself in firsthand knowledge about SCV Water from industry experts through dynamic, face-to-face sessions.

Topics include:

History and Organization
Infrastructure and Facilities
Water Supply and Quality
Critical Water Issues

Are you ready to participate? Ensure you’re 18 or above, residing or working within the SCV Water service region, and prepared to engage in all four sessions. Space is limited.

Sessions Schedule:

Wednesday, Nov. 1, 5-8 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 9, 5-8 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 15, 5-8 p.m.

And Saturday, Nov. 18, 8:30 – 11 a.m.

To be considered for the SCV Water Academy group, the deadline to apply is Friday, October 20, 2023, at 4 p.m. Selected participants will be notified by email no later than October 25, 2023.

FALL INTO WATER SAVINGS THIS SEASON!

As the vibrant hues of autumn foliage surround us, it's the perfect time to embrace the spirit of conservation. While fall brings cooler temperatures and a break from the scorching summer heat, we must remain mindful of our water usage.

Here are some timely tips to help you conserve water this season:

ADJUST YOUR IRRIGATION SCHEDULE

As the days grow shorter and temperatures drop, plants require less water. Take a moment to reevaluate your irrigation schedule and adjust it accordingly. Consider watering your garden and lawn less frequently but deeply to encourage deep root growth. Take the guesswork out of irrigation schedules and learn more about our Smart Controller's Rebate.

FIX LEAKS PROMPTLY

Cooler temperatures can make it easier to detect leaks. Check faucets, hoses, and irrigation systems for any signs of leaks or drips. Addressing these issues promptly can save significant amounts of water and reduce your water bill.

COLLECT RAINWATER

Fall often brings increased rainfall. Harness the power of nature by setting up a rain barrel to collect rainwater. This harvested water can be used for watering plants, washing outdoor equipment, or flushing toilets, reducing reliance on treated water. Don't have a rain barrel? MULCH GARDEN BEDS

Applying a layer of mulch around your garden beds helps retain soil moisture and regulate temperature. This simple step conserves water and suppresses weeds, providing a dual benefit for your garden.

By incorporating these water conservation tips into your fall routine, you help conserve water and save money on water bills. APPLY TODAY FOR SCV WATER’S PILOT RATEPAYER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Need help paying your water bill? Apply for SCV Water’s Ratepayer Assistance Program (RAP). The RAP helps some low-income residential households stay current on their water bills.

Qualifying SCV Water residential customers can receive a $10 monthly credit towards their fixed service charge, for up to a 12-month period during the fiscal year (July-June).

Assistance will be given to qualifying customers from the priority group on a “first-come, first-served” basis, so long as funds are available. If additional funds are available after processing the priority group applications, the RAP will be opened to all eligible customers meeting the qualifying criteria.
