October 2026: A Review of the Heart

October invites us to ask whether the life we are building reflects what we truly value. Venus retrograde begins a review of relationships, money, desire, and self-worth.

Mercury retrograde later in the month may bring old conversations or unfinished decisions back for a closer look. The Libra New Moon encourages more honest balance in our relationships, while the Taurus Full Moon brings our attention to stability, nourishment, and the choices we make in everyday life.

October’s 11/2 numerology may heighten intuition and sensitivity. Listen to what comes forward, stay grounded, and give yourself time to understand an insight before turning it into a decision.

The planetary picture this month:

Venus asks what your heart truly values. Mercury invites you to revisit the story you have been telling yourself. Saturn asks you to lead your life with greater maturity, Neptune calls for discernment alongside intuition, and Uranus encourages a fresh look at your habits of thought. As Pluto turns direct, inner changes may begin to shape how you participate in your communities and the wider world.

• Aries: Review what you share with others and where your relationships need greater honesty and reciprocity.
• Taurus: Notice how you have changed, especially in the relationships and routines that once felt familiar.

• Leo: Use your growing confidence thoughtfully as home, career, and important conversations call for attention.
• Virgo: Revisit your financial priorities and speak about the value of your gifts with clarity.

Remembering Toby

On September 4, two weeks shy of his 18th birthday, we said goodbye to Toby. He was an eight-pound Chihuahua who forever looked like a puppy, but he had big-dog energy and a big-dog bark.

Toby was really Jake's dog, but he ruled the house. Toby took his job as guardian of the front door seriously. From his spot near my office, he kept watch over the house and everyone coming and going. Visitors got a bold first greeting; he needed them to know whose house they had entered before they discovered how much he loved people and being part of whatever was going on. I think of all the miles his little legs must have traveled up/down the stairs, all his walks, his continuous circles around the gardens, and his security rounds on every level of the house. He was always investigating in the backyard, following one new smell after another, happily unaware of the eagles we watched so carefully overhead. After he passed, I heard an eagle screech outside and instinctively looked to see where Toby was.

Toby loved tricks - he learned to sit, roll over, stand on his hind legs, dance, and navigate an obstacle course. For a treat, he would try just about anything, and most times he would run through all his tricks without being asked just to get a treat. Even as his body slowed, his hind legs weakened, his eyesight and hearing diminished, that loving, puppy-like spirit was still there, and he always perked up for people.

The house is quieter now. Meeko and Pippin roam a little more freely, and sometimes Meeko, who has never known this house without his buddy, calls out at night as though searching for him. I know Toby visits, stopping by to share his new adventures. Every once in a while, I'll sense him sitting near my feet, or waiting by the door for a trip outside.

Over the years I've been honored to help people connect with their furbabies that have transitioned.

I know the phrase “Rainbow Bridge” brings comfort to many people, and I respect that though it's a phrase I never use. It has never quite expressed how I experience the pets I’ve loved or how I experience them beyond. I know they are in the heavens, but I also feel their presence here with us. To me, love doesn’t need a bridge to find its way home or to us. They are closer than we think. We miss you, little guardian. Thank you for nearly eighteen years of love, laughter, and life in our home.

We often imagine awakening as a moment that lifts us out of ordinary life: a sudden revelation, a message from Spirit, or an experience so extraordinary that we can never see the world the same way again. This hands-on session invites you to deepen your relationship with crystals as living teachers, helping you align energy with intention in all the spaces you inhabit. You learn how to clear, charge, and program crystals, and how to listen to the subtle messages they offer. We also explore the art of choosing a stone - not only by its qualities, but by listening to the resonance it awakens within you.

We examine how stress, trauma, relationships, life transitions, core wounds, ancestral patterns, and past experiences may affect the physical/etheric, emotional, mental, and spiritual/astral bodies—and how these layers continually communicate with and influence one another. Some programs support our growth, while others may contribute to recurring patterns, resistance, self-sabotage, fear, scarcity, or the feeling of being energetically stuck.

Through guided, hands-on practice, we will learn how to identify and clear potential programs and energetic imprints connected with areas such as:

• Money, prosperity, scarcity, and receiving
• Career, purpose, direction, and self-expression
• Relationships, boundaries, and recurring patterns
• Fear, negative self-talk, resistance, and self-sabotage

An essential part of this work is discernment. We will practice recognizing what appears to be ours, what may belong to another person, what exists within a relational field, and what cannot yet be clearly identified. Rather than assuming that every challenge has a spiritual or energetic cause, students will learn to observe carefully, ask responsible questions, maintain healthy boundaries, and recognize when practical action or qualified professional support is needed.
