CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES
CHECKERS LIBRARY TV
is a New Family-Friendly Online Virtual Educational Program.
Checkers Library TV presents The Reading Road Trip: Full STEAM Ahead, a weekly 12-minute television show aimed at providing entertainment for children and illustrating the benefits of reading in a fun and exciting way. Library patrons can find these episodes on our website each week and downstairs in our Children’s Library near the train in late October.
This fall, Checkers and his vacuum robot sidekick Snoozer head off on a reading road trip where they will explore the vast world of STEAM and visit a new location each week. The 16-episode series will feature many unique STEAM concepts such as 3d printing, dinosaurs, and many more exciting features that will keep kids on the edge of their seats. Along the way, the episodes will feature health tips from Dr. Dan, crafts and activities with Mrs. Hamilton, book recommendations, science experiments, and much more.

You can view their fun, educational videos on our YouTube playlist as well as our own short videos featuring Erin from our Children’s Library.

This service is paid for by Wagnalls and FREE to our patrons. Please let us know how you enjoy it!

NEXT MEETING...
Thursday, October 14th, 7:00-8:00pm in the Loft

It’s here… our new, mysterious, suspenseful, thrilling book club for patrons of the Wagnalls Memorial Library and their friends!

This month, we will be discussing Lavender Blue Murder by Laura Childs.

"Tea maven Theodosia Browning and her tea sommelier Drayton Conneley are guests at a bird hunt styled in the precise manner of an English shooting party. Which means elevenses (sloe gin fizzes), gun loaders, the drawing of pegs, fine looking bird dogs, and shooting costumes of tweed, herringbone, and suede.
But as gunshots explode like a riff of Black Cat firecrackers, another shot sounds too close for comfort..."
You are welcome to bring a favorite beverage, including adult-only, to enjoy while we talk.

If your favorite genres are mystery, suspense, and/or thriller, this is the book club for you! Contact Lissie at [email protected] if you want to join.
