Fall Leaf Collection: Saturday, October 12 & 26th

Republic Services will provide curbside leaf collection on Saturday, October 12th & 26th. All leaf waste must be put in biodegradable bags and placed curbside by 6am on the day of pick-up. There is a limit of eight bags per pick-up.

EAC Tree Giveaway

The Environmental Advisory Council still has trees available. If you have not registered yet to get a tree, please visit the following web link to register for your tree https://www.lowergwynedd.org/government/environmental-advisory-council/tree-giveaway/

After filling out the pre-registration form you will receive a confirmation email with the information you filled out on the form. Save this email for future reference, and bring it with you (printed or on your phone) when you come to pick up your tree. If you do not get a confirmation email please first check your spam folder, and then email contactus@lowergwynedd.org to confirm that your registration form was received.

WSD Bus Safety Program

The Wissahickon School District is implementing a new School Bus Safety Program in partnership with BusPatrol, aimed at safeguarding our students. In line with PA Motor Vehicle Code § 3345, all buses will now feature photo enforcement cameras to detect vehicles that illegally pass school buses while stop signs are deployed and lights are flashing red. Every incident will be reviewed by law enforcement, ensuring accountability. With nearly 200 violations reported in just one day during Pennsylvania’s Operation Safe Stop, this initiative is crucial for protecting our students during their daily commutes.
