Greetings from the Museum of Art! We are excited to announce a major gift of fine art photographs. Numbering more than 230 images created over the last two centuries by artists from around the world, this collection has been generously donated by Gail and David Mixer of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and includes images by more than forty artists whose work was not represented previously in the Museum’s collection. A selection of these artworks will be featured in a new exhibition, Hello, Stranger: Artist as Subject in Photographic Portraits since 1900, opening on October 30. Also this month, we are thrilled to welcome Abigail DeVille back to campus. On October 1, she will be in conversation with artist Daniel Minter. Other notable programs include a presentation by artist Jefferson Pinder on October 9, a lecture by photography scholar Karen Fraser on October 15, and two “Music at the Museum” performances with George Lopez and Gulimina Mahamuti on October 17.

We look forward to seeing you at the Museum!
