Our guest speaker is Corinne Prevot, owner of Skida Headwear and Accessories. In 2008, Corinne, a Vermont skier and design-enthusiast, picked up some fun fabric and made the first Skida hats for her Burke Mountain Academy teammates and friends. The demand for her colorful hats snowballed beyond the ski racing community as new prints and styles joined the line. While attending Middlebury College as a full-time student and Division 1 athlete, Corinne launched Skida Plus One, a donation program that provides hats to patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Please attend the gala to learn how Corinne continues to grow the company, funding all growth capital from operating cash flow, remaining debt-free and independent.

Opening music provided by The Fyre and Lightning Duo -Steven and Kathy Light. Dancing music provided by Penny Arcade.

efficiencies and reduce Vermont’s reliance on fossil fuels as an electric generating source. Renewables are becoming more of the mix. How does this impact you and your business? What additional changes can we expect? Do you have questions, thoughts or ideas? Attend this $marts & ¢ ents program to get answers to these questions, find out what GMP is doing, where they're going in terms of energy innovation, and to hear from you, the small business owner, about the challenges you're facing.

ClearChoiceMD to Offer No-Cost
Flu Shots
Throughout October
The Autumn season is synonymous with many things, such as cooler nights, turning back the clocks and pumpkin spice. Last, but certainly not least, autumn means the flu season is quickly approaching. Be prepared this season by getting your flu shot. ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care , located at 798 US Route 302 in Berlin (between Kinney Drugs and O’Reilly Auto Parts), will be offering flu shots at no cost to patients throughout the entire month of October.
It’s important to get your flu vaccination before winter begins so your body has enough time to develop the antibodies that protect against influenza. Receiving the flu shot not only helps you protect yourself, but it also prevents the flu from spreading throughout the community. We want the community to know that we are a resource for them at any time, especially during flu season.
The No Cost Flu Shot Month allows all patients to get vaccinated, regardless of insurance coverage. Vaccinations are available for ages 4 years and older, while supplies last. No appointments are needed, just walk in from 8am – 6pm. Patients are asked to bring a photo ID and insurance card (if available). For those with healthcare insurance, the urgent care center will bill the carrier and cover any remaining out of pocket cost. For those without insurance, ClearChoiceMD will cover the cost.
Lost Nation Theater
Presents
Pride & Prejudice By Jane Austen
Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 3-20
7:30pm Thursdays-Saturdays
2pm Sundays
It is truth universally acknowledged that Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice ranks among her very best works. Bold, surprising, boisterous, hilarious and timely, this rollicking modern stage adaptation of the classic by Kate Hamill explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life.
The outspoken Lizzy Bennet is determined to never marry, despite mounting pressure from, and the constrictions of, society. Follow the trials and travails of Lizzy, Darcy, and the wonderfully idiosyncratic Bennet clan! Literature's greatest tale of latent love has never felt so theatrical, so full of life, or so fun as it does in this effervescent, riotous adaption. Purchase your tickets online at lostnationtheater.org/pride-and-prejudice or call 229-0492. Recommended for ages 8 & up.

UVM Health Network-CVMC Construction Update
As you may know, Vermonters are waiting for extended times in our emergency departments due to a lack of therapeutic inpatient psychiatric beds. That’s why the UVM Health Network is working collaboratively with our state, provider, and community partners, as well as individuals and family members with experience, to build additional adult psychiatric beds at Central Vermont Medical Center for the care and treatment of these patients.
Over the coming months, we will develop a business plan and submit a certificate of need (CON) to the Green Mountain Care Board, and an important step towards that goal is the selection of a construction management firm (CM). For this project’s CM, we selected Whiting-Turner based on eleven weighted criteria. We believe that Whiting-Turner brings the background, resources, and experience in building inpatient psychiatric facilities required for a project of this scope.
The UVM Health Network and Whiting-Turner are committed to bringing on local strategic partners to make up at least 85% of the workforce for the construction of this project. Over the coming months, we will reach out to local subcontractors for bids. Eileen Hee - CVMC Property/Project Manager - is fielding any sub-contractor inquiries, and can be reached at (802) 371-4170.
I look forward to sharing more with you as this multi-year project progresses. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
